Rick Menefee Shadow.

Nice!

Made me go looking for one; found one with a nice clip blade. Bloody tempting! I'm not sure about no liners though. Not sure why.... Nice look, and its different, but it nags at me from a structural point of view. No offense to Mr. Menefee meant; Just a thought. :)

If you consider most FRN Spyderco's are linerless. I don't see a linerless slipjoint being a problem. Larry

BTW The black handle knife in my Avatar is a linerless Halfrich.

Didn't know that, but then again, I've never looked close at a Spyderco. Interesting. I didn't really mean I thought it'd be a problem in any way. Just an odd fleeting thought.

I had wondered what the black one was too...

I've been looking at a lot of custom single blades lately, and these are screaming at me; "Buy me!!"

If you decide to buy a Custom slipjoint you should consider buying a Menefee. But buy one while you still can. Larry

i am still knew to slip joints so i like input. dan burke has helped me and he has been made a knife like this for years with know problems. i have had customers ask about my pivots. i dont need to mill the liners i put bushings on both sides of the blade. if you look at the blade it is thinner than the backspring. i am currently working on a price list that will have options such as bolsters, handle material, different pivot system. my prices will stay the same until jan they will go 25.00 they will be the same until the following jan if i need to raise them i will at that time.

Looks good to me Larry, 2 years ago in Florida Rick was the table behind me and said geez I'd like to make those, I'd say he's doing just fine.
Ken.

This knife is shipping out Monday, thought I might try to post a picture. 154cm, cryo treatment, bushings in the blade, 410 liner w/ green micarta. open, halftop, closed all flush w/ liner. Ground w/ 14 contact wheel w/ edge being
.010. It will be a very good cutter.

Really a good looking knife, I think there is another maker I need on my shelf. Thanks for sharing LarryM, Great Score.

Rick,
I see it now & liking it a lot.I can personally say, this little knife is a great design.EDC knife. For the person who wants a jacknife in a shadow pattern, and with an alternative blade profile to the clip or warncliffe.Real handy & comfortable in the pocket

OK I got in the spear jack shadow that Rick made for me.The blade is ground thin & it's a cutter/slicer.The rounding of the backspring is really, really nice.I'm real pleased. He really did a fine job,a maker to watch.I like a spear blade :D
I'll let these pics talk,though
Happy Camper,-Vince :)

That's a nice one Vince! Nice mirror finish on the back spring and liners. Great pics too.:thumbup:

WHat type bushing and how thick do you use? This is the first I have seen on a slipjoint. Nice knife by the way!

Sweet knife, and great photos Vince. Thanks for sharing those.
