RickTip (part 2): Firesteel Striking

Hey Rick ... the video is not showing up here but I did see it on the tube

Another good tip ... thanks bro.

Great vid! One question... What are you using for your scraper/carver there?

Rich showed me that one first hand, and it only works if you buy his magic triple tempered 100000 layer damascus strikers for 185.99 each, ( Rick normal 15% for the plug) :D

JUst kidding, I think Rick uses the scrapper that comes with the firesteels. But I did see it first hand and now its the only way I use a striker, I find I have way more control of my spark and am less likely to knock my tinder pile all over the place

keep the video's comming, you seem very natural in front of the camera, almost like you have preformed before or something..

The striker I use is made from an old blade from a reciprocating(or jig) saw... they are a little thicker than hacksaw blades and can be hardened to take a mean edge... I sell em for a $185.99 ..... 15% wade fees apply.:p

Thanks for the compliments, guys...

yes... but never with clothes on...... (cue 70's porn soundtrack) boom-chicka-boom-beowwww

Dude! Your videos are my favorites (um, the ones with clothes on). Very useful and funnier than a punch to the junk.;)

Very well done! I can't wait to see more, fantastic videos so far, and as everybody else has said you're a natural! :D

Count me among *SurvivorMag's* new fans.

I actually popped the safety cap off a Bic lighter to see what you were talking about in your other video.

Great job again! Out of curiousity, how many takes?

I got it on the first take for the the "Bic Trick" video and I had to start over once on this vid.... but I just kept the camera going and edited the first 30secs out. After I shot it, I figured I would have to do it over because of the loud noise and my reaction to it.... but the bubbles kinda smoothed that one out. Its actually my foot that knocked some stuff off a shelf under the table as I leaned in.... I just went with it.

It would probably help if I actually had a "script" but I kinda like winging it. I have an idea as to what I'm going to say but let it come naturally. The fun part is putting in all the little text bubbles.... it makes the joke timing that much better.

Priceless!!!

Be careful ~ before you know it, you are going to start getting requests and people asking for you autograph!
