RickTip (part 2): Firesteel Striking

Great tip!

I am really enjoying your vids. I like how you don't take yourself too seriously!

The bubbles are great.

What do you want to see?.... What is a reoccuring PITA for you?

Well, that cr@p Sean Penn did about Chris McCandless' life could seriously use a little help...I'm pretty sure that was done without a script too.:)

And I like the vid you did this time also. 5/5 natch.

That is the same technique that I use, and IMO is THE BEST way to do it.

I have tried to tell others that, and there is always some excuse, such as "it takes a long time to wear away the rod" etc. But the big difference, is how hot the sparks are, how focused the sparks are, and how long they last.

Great video.

Just don't know if I would make a video advertising the fact that I have a short stroke, rather than a long stroke........if you know what I mean ;) :D:D:D

Rick--one of the reasons I gave up commercial TV was that there was so little on it that was interesting. Now--your stuff--I like! :)

Thank you. I actually was sitting in my living room last night trying to figure out a better way to do this (no lie). I always used primitive flint and steel in the past and never learned this technique well!
