Anyone here hammock regularly? I'm lookin at switchin to swinging for backpacking overnights but i just don't really know what i'm lookin for.

Are ENOs anything worth looking into? They're pretty trendy among the college crowd which usually is a clue for me to stay away. Just wonderin

I use a Grand Trunk Ultulight and love it

The hammock and carry bag is actually smaller, I just carry about 100' of 550-cord in the bag along with it.
Oh nice! It's upside down!

Thanks for this HS. Looks like a really good deal, they're very affordable.

I might need to just start here at the $20-30 range and after a couple overnights i can sit down and really have a feel of what im lookin for in a hammock

Ahhh, it doesnt come with the hammock straps, does it? I'm assuming thats what the 550 cord is for in the bag.

I have slept in a few other expensive hammocks and to be honest this on works just fine! I mean they are all made from pretty much the same material, I don't use any fancy hanging systems just some 7mm climbing grade rope and some 550-cord. The tarp I use is a cheap 7'x9' nylon tarp I found at a general store years ago, it works but I find that it's a little small when its raining, when it rains I like to angle it steeper and tuck my hammock way up in the crotch.

I've used a ENO rest nest for the last two summers and falls and I love it, it dosn't have all the features you might want but it packs down real nice and its decently lightweight. fairly well priced as well

Another satisfied user of the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter. I'll warn you though if you get the UL version like I have (this is probably true with any UL hammock), the skeeters can still bit you through the bottom of the hammock anywhere that your skin is touching. Ask me how I know

You just need to put a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, blanket, etc... between you and the needle-noses.

This is a damn fine knife right here. That's just all there is to it.

Very nice. My Bushcrafter is one of my favorite knives.

Did you do something to remove the wax-finish from the handle or is that just from use?

For webbing, search a store called Arrowhead Equipment and get their polyester webbing -- it's very inexpensive and doesn't stretch like nylon webbing.

It's only 50 cent per foot, I got two 7-ft lengths and the loops are already sewn in (each loop takes a foot, so you end up with 2 6-ft straps).

Then you just need to decide which method you want to attach the straps to your hammock.

So here I was drinking and thinking.......then I had a great idea!!!!!!! Stand by for WIP pics :D

Has anyone got pictures of that BK2 Murph chopped the end of it off?

for the price of a decent beer you could have a fresh piece of 1084 to grind on, instead of terrorizing one of Ethan's lovelies! Oh, the huge manatee!

Anyone have a 11 San Mai they want to part with? Need to ban myself from the exchange for awhile, after I get the 11.
