Yeah, I based it on my experience with it while in. The kidney pad makes a world of difference. Damn prices went up since I bought mine15 years ago.

I got mine for real cheap online, but the surplus store wanted big bucks.

Happy Birthday !! That's an awesome wife right there.... although what she didn't tell you is, your knife collection must never expand beyond those drawers... :)

Thanks man, and if that was her intent she is not going to be happy lmao i still have a LONG list of knives to get. But i will keep my favorites in here anyway :)

Worldwood - are those Busse / SY knives up there? Thinking about grabbing a SYKCO to see what the bid deal is. I saw a FS ad for a 411 and now can't find it for the life of me and was going to try to jump on it.

I have several SYKCO they are a good value, but the wait time can be a few months. The 311 is a great EDC type.

I didnt care for the 511 the handle was too small for me. I have heard good things about the 411 but it isnt in the store and I havent seen one on the exchange for a good price.

I saw a 411 for $75 yeasterday and I'm going nuts trying to figure out where! I was debating between the 411 / 311, but it seems that the 311 is the only really available option. I just don't see any real advantage to the 311 over the ESEE3, which I carry a lot.

Edit: figured out where I saw it and it was withdrawn.

I'd like that little extra handle, the iz2 fits my hand much better. Oh man, a candiru would drive me nuts though. I need more than 2 fingers on knife

Took off a few hours from work yesterday to make a run to the local surplus stores with ny buddy and my daughter. I didn't buy much for myself, but the kiddo made out pretty well. I got her a Sea to Summit collapsible measuring cup. She's two, it's the size of a regular cup for her. She also got a fleece beanie, whistle, headlamp and she had a blast playing with gear. We also stopped at a local outdoor shop. She loved the sleeping bags.

I did find a good deal on a couple Petzl Tactikkas. The guy had two on a shelf, in the package for $20.

Yes bussekins, mostly swamp rat, i do have a few scrapyards and another being delivered today but not a 411, honestly i prefer micarta to res-c unless maybe on a large chopper.

As pysop said the wait for a scrapyard can be a few months, swamp rat is still 3+ weeks as well. But they are very nice comfortable knives IMHO. people complain about the price but i just cant see it, the same people who talk poorly about the price of swamp rat LOVES Esee knives.. which an esee 6 can cost you the same as a swamp rat RMD, but in my opinion the ergos are so much better, the steel is definetly better and they are heat treated better... I can justify the price for swamp rat knives in comaprison to esee. I cant justify the price comparison from Becker to Esee. same steel, with close enough HT, and worse ergos.... Its a personal thing.

I still have to get myself a 311 I just don't know how well I can conceal it as opposed to an 11/14 with the larger handle. That probably won't stop me from getting one eventually.

Never held an izula or candiru but have both being delivered today supposedly. the candiru defintely looks too small to be comfortable in use but i like the shape and really like the catfish on the back. Actually it might compare in size to a remora but thicker. ill have to compare them later.

Also have a Sykco and swamp rat coming today so im lookin out the door every 30 minutes but the mailman obviously wont come until dark thirty to keep my excitment up!

I really like the Candiru with scales on it. Without, it's kind of too small to do much with, but it sure is one sturdy little knife. I've got mine in a minimalist sheath from Godspeed and I could carry it anywhere without it being noticed. Always a good option if necessary.
