I'm a dumbass, but I got swindled into my current car. Long story short, I love it, but will happy when the lease is up in November. I didn't NEED a new car at all. Currently, the residual value is $6k ove market value, so i won't be buying the lease out. Gorgeous, fast, and fun to drive. Plus, it fits my 6'4" 230lb body thats all legs. (In the pick was back when I was 275lbs.)
Not quite in the same vein of the rest of this thread, but still ridiculous.
Nearly $1900 in memory cards. I'm saving to upgrade my camera but I don't know if I'm sticking with Sony or switching to Canon (or Nikon..unlikely, but they might announce something new in the meantime). Or maybe go with a 2 brand setup. The problem is Sony uses CFe type A cards in their better models and all the other companies use CFe type B. The price of storage has already skyrocketed (my 4tb solid state drive costs twice now what I paid for it) and will probably only get worse. So I bought some (ok, a lot) of each type. Whichever type I don't use I'll just resell and probably break even or possibly even make a profit.
Why so much storage? My current camera (Sony a6700) has a 256gb card, which gives me nearly 7000 RAW photos. Granted, that's a ton, but it's not impossible that I can shoot that many in a single day at, for example, an airshow. However it's "only" 25.6MP and the cameras I'm looking at are anywhere from 39-67MP. My camera also has a 11fps burst rate and those cameras can shoot anywhere from 20-40fps. So double the pixels and double the shots mean 4x the storage and thus 1TB. I got two of each because two is one and one is none if you're dumb enough to leave it at home (which I've done).
