Slightly off topic - but no, I don't have any other guns anymore (used to - it's complicated). Honestly, it's not bad here. Gangs mostly target other gangs, not civilians. The raw number is much scarier than the per capita.


Nice Benjamin, nickortizzle1035! Is that a PCP (Marauder)? I've got my eye on an RWS 460 magnum to replace my small game gun - but the benjamins are always interesting. I'm also looking at possibly a FWB or Anschutz target rifle, if I decide to get back into competition.

yup. its a marauder 25cal. I got it for picking of neighborhood pests and am in love with it. I'm going to try and take some coyotes with it, if I get a chance to go out this season. I like the look of that RWS 460, but for pretty much the same price you could easily get into a PCP rifle. Not having the internal spring rattling around and being able to use almost any scope on the market without the fear or destroying it, were all I needed to push me in the PCP rifle direction.

PCP is a no-go for me, for a game gun. I take it camping for weeks at a time, and won't want to haul a pump or canisters. Single stroke gas or spring works just fine for that purpose. Air dedicated scopes have gotten better - and since I'm mostly dealing with ~25-50 yard ranges, I don't need anything crazy.

When I can't be bothered to travel the ten miles to my range I shoot charcoal briquettes with an old RWS Diana in the backyard to keep up the skills.

Ha, I just shoot cans and old garden statues/ornaments, lol. Bob the cat does his own hunting, even without claws. He was supposed to be an indoor cat… In the summer time, he spends entire nights 'out and about,' ha. I've never seen him get a squirrel, however, he's quite proficient at picking off chipmunks.

Everyman should have one rifle truly custom built for him sometime in his life. This is a Steyr M1903 Mannlicher–Schönauer action I rescued in Hawaii upon which I later had a rifle built. Custom Krieger barrel reamed for the 6.5X54mm MS cartridge.

Mattal21, what do you think of that rifle? Is it a good one?

Love it. Sent it off and had the barrel cut down to just over 16" and it's still an accurate little rifle. I've used it to blast sage rats out to 70 yards.

Here's my recently finished Service Rifle upper, the paint I wanted for the lower is on back order but as soon as it's painted I'll get the bottom half built. This is a match grade upper too.

This has to be one of the best rifle pic threads I've seen for a very long time. I have some beauties and some plain fun guns, including a Ruger GSR, very early Ruger 77/22, a shorty AR15 predator rifle w/16" stainless fluted bull bbl, if it counts as a rifle, an early Ruger Charger, my Gradpa's old Remington pump .22 with an octagon barrel.

I apologize, I don't have pics to post. It's one technology I've failed to master due to crappy, livin' out in the sticks internet, but I want all of you that posted to know I really appreciate it!
