RIP Duane Sitflyer

Thank you, everyone, for all your thoughtful comments, and kind words. Duane's passing is a sad loss for all of us :( When I posted this thread, I sent a link to Duane's wife, and I hope that if she comes across it, it will bring her a little comfort

I "loved" your tribute Jack, the smiling hearty and cheerful emoji not appropriate but your moving tribute to Duane is lovely and touching.
From my heart, my condolences to his wife and family. Our loss too but our pleasure in the while he shared with us.

Thank you Ray, very kind of you

Duane, graciously shared this 62 with me. He felt it would be a good carving knife a wanted it to be in the hands of someone who would us it as such. I have, I do, and I will continue to, with a touch of joy and a touch of sorrow when I do so. RIP Duane.

I can only hope to be remembered as fondly as Duane when my time comes. I wont be around to know by then, so I want to live my life in a way that assures me that I'll already know how people will feel about me before I go. Losing people like this reminds us of our mortality, and that what we do for others while we are here on earth is most important.

Well damn
Ain't this been a hell of a week. And not welcome news to come home to.

Duane was one of the people I first interacted with when I joined all those years ago.
He sent me a couple knives out of complete generosity when I was first starting out my collection

My condolences to his family
And to all of us whom he touched with his friendship along the way

RIP Duane ,condolences to his family
