RIP pockets

In your guys opinion, does it even matter if the pocket gets ripped/frayed a little? Is it worth it to even try to avoid?

It bugs me a little, but I don't worry about it much. My ideal solution would be for every knife to come with a G&G Hawk Grip Clip, but until that happens I just kind of ignore it.

That said, I wear $20 jeans from Tractor Supply, if I was wearing $150 selvedge denim it would piss me off no end.

How about removing the clip and putting the knife inside the pocket like in the good old days?

Works for me. Most of my knives are old school slipjoints and such, but even the two modern clip-knives I own get carried in pocket. At the end of my life I will have wasted a total of about four minutes reaching into my pocket for a knife. I can live with that.

By the time my pockets get too ratty looking, the rest of the jeans are pretty worn too.

The only real solution that I have seen is when pants are designed specifically to hold a knife. These pants by Sitka gear have a reinforced area where the clip rides on the pocket.

My brother gets sponsored/is a rep for Sitka. They're stuff is expensive, but it really is designed well.
