As a newbie took a chance on another newbie to forum("blackflht")his forum name)sent him $500 in knives and we agreed on an equitable trade-he would send me at same time. He directed me to his Blade Runner site with high quality european folders and he said he was a regular seller on e-bay,blade auction and Knife Forum. The german Hubertus brass and wood sidelock we assigned a $75 value on is a cheap paki or chicom unmarked $10 knife, the Lindner "bloodwood" folder that he said took best in show at atlanta knife show at $120 or $130 is a $3 china marked linerlock.just rcvd them along with others German Stag Case supposed to be a medium folder is 3" overall with a 2" blade it did come in Large box marked 3and1/2" case stag lockback.Just e-mailed him as to disatisfaction as he assured me he would never take a mans valuable knifes and send him junk in return ? he goes by Jerry "The Foot" Maniscalco and I quess he did put the boot up my ass on this deal.probably should wait for his reply but Since its hard for me to believe this is an "honest mistake"figured I better save others from this type of blatant misrepresentation of goods.Sure soured me on forum trades though.

wow. sorry to hear about your sour trade. i have yet to complete any transactions thru BFC, as i want to be sure of who i deal with, before i attempt any trades/purchases. don't give up hope; not everyone is dishonest or shady.

i hope everything is resolved, and appreciate you posting the name for all of us, so we can keep an eye out for the member you mentioned. please also update and let everyone know if all ends well, or even if it doesn't. good luck to you in the future!

Bob:

I'm sorry to have to see this here. I told you that I wanted a fair trade, and if you were not happy with anything, to please let me know. The only thing that I can see that was in anyway misrepresented was the bloodwood handled piece. I did say that I didn't remember who it was made by, but if "my memory serves me it is Linder." Well, my memory didn't serve me as when I pulled it out it was made by defender. This doesn't change the fact that when I bought this knife on E-Bay, that I was told it was voted "Best New Knife in Show" at Atlanta. I paid $120 or $130 for that piece, and was hesitant to trade it. The German auto is just as I described, a German auto with wooden scales and brass hardware. I never once used the name Hubertus, but that is exactly as described. The Case XX German Crafted Stag handled piece is exactly what I said it was "A really sharp little knife.". This knife, does, in fact, have an MSRP of $120. Nothing was misrepresented, and I still stand by the value of the package that I sent you. I also note that you didn't mention the two autos that I threw in and didn't count towards the value of the package , as they were little California legal knives that I obtained in a bad trade, and just gave them to you because you are a Californian. I did say you could check my feedback on Blade Auction, and E-bay. I have very good feedback, as I always deal honestly. I'm not a big seller, but a big buyer.I told you if you weren't happy about anything to let me know, and I would make it right. You choose to go this route instead. When it took weeks and weeks of me changing the knives around to make you happy, I should have know what kind of guy you are. I'm very sorry that you are angry with me, but all you had to do is write or call.

Simple solution. Each of you send the other's knives back. Shouldn't be any problem with that, should there?

Yep. Couldn't be a simpler way to fix up this whole misunderstanding.

Jerry, your bladerunner site (now missing)listed and pictured a German brass and wood hubertus as well as some of your Delta Z knives and other hi-quality folders. The sidelock I rcvd is paki or chi-com junk unmarked as to origin. The German Lindner "bloodwood" folder $120 or $130 you paid,Atlanta Blade Show Winner? is marked CHINA and can be found at nearest gas station/flea mkt for $5.as to the 2 free Rocky Mosher clones one has a malfunctioning lock and the other is missing a grip screw guess i could cobble together 1 rocky mosher clone, gee thanks big fella. The knives I sent you,you valued at $500 Retail trade value and I was more than generous on my valuation of the 2 Italian Knives that are OK. I now see how you can afford the vintage Hog,Studebaker and Cuban Cigars you brag about on forums. For you to try and grab Victim Status on this deal is shamefull, also knives came poorly packed with 3 left to bang together and took 12 days to arrive Fed Ex Ground,at least you are consistent. With Equal Respect KELLY

Just ship the respective knives back to each other. A deal is never a deal util both parties are happy.

Therefore, this is still not yet a deal..............

Reverse the trade. Return the items exactly as they were received. It's the only equitable solution.

Okay, Bob. How about we take everyone's advice, and exchange knives again. A simple and fair solution. Just for the record, the knives were sent as you asked them to be. I wanted to use USPS priority mail, and you said no because of the autos. Please don't blame me for following your instructions. I'll gladly send your three knives back in exchange for my six. If that's okay with you, please let me know. I told you right from the begining,if you had any problem, I'd make it right. If writing nasty comments is what floats your boat, go right ahead. I have treated you with respect from the very start, and will continue to do so. Please let's exchange knives, and make whatever problem you have go away.........Jerry

I e-mailed "blackflht" AKA TwoCamHog this morning explaining situation and am more than willing to return his knives properly packaged UPS insured and receive the return of mine. The website he had directed me to listing his knives is no longer active so I am a little shakey as to sending anything without his assurance that my knives are on the way.The knives he sent had been packed in a 3rd world/iron curtain grade cardboard box 6AND1/2"X 4"X 4AND1/2" With a handfull of plastic peanuts 3 left loose to bang against each other on their 12 day sojourn across country.I am concerned as to the condition on arrival of my knives,I believe with good reason. He can certainly resolve this issue in an honorable manner if he chooses as I'm an easy dog to hunt with. Thanks fellow forumites for your help in trying to resolve this issue. KELLY

Bob, you continue to write to the masses, rather than me. The site that I sent you to, was to see the Delta Z Knives that I had offered. Weather it's there or not, I had nothing to do with it's disappearance. You only wanted the one Delta Z, and that's the one that I sent you. I will, once again, offer to exchange your knives for mine...................Jerry

Smarten up...the guy said send the knives back, and he'd return yours...that's the way it's done here, end of story.

Thats What I intended to do but due to haphazard way items had been sent and misrepresented I felt it was My right to explain situation from my point of view. Also to protect myself and not give wrong impression to other forumites,Thats the way its done here Mr. Purvis and if I am out of line for stating my case and broke some forum decorum I will stop partaking of the forum and apologize to all other members for my apparent lack of graciousness. Dear Mr. Kelly:

I'm sorry for having angered you. If It were my intent to "rip you off," I would not have contacted you daily to inquire about your package, and to voice my concern about the long wait for the package to be delivered your way. You could have contacted me, and an exchange could have been arrainged without all of this unpleasantness. When you are through playing to the crowd, please let me know, and I'll send your knives back.

Best wishes:

Jerry

No bud, what you're doing here is beating a dead horse...and there's no more milage to get out of it...

You made your case on day one...the guy agreed, others that have been through this suggested that you (and blackflht) follow the unwritten rules and rewind the deal...

That's it, that's all there is to it, and there's no more to be said..just/send/the/knives/back...end of story.

(If you continue your present course Mr. Kelly, you'll just be damaging your own credibility, and other forumites 'may' be hesitant to deal with you in the future...)

As to whether you stay or go; the door was open when you got here, and it's still open... ;)

Mel

That sounds like a plan why don't you e-mail me with preferred form of delivery I will send your package UPS fully insured or FedEx Priority or any private carrier.I was worried about any damage to your loose knives,I have them wrapped in paper towels now as Bruce Voyles auction house requested when I posted knives to them recently.Hope no damage occured on long land voyage. KELLY
