Rit Dye G10 help!

Just chuck it in the dye.

My new Strider is coyote brown g10. I want to dye it, but I think Strider cancels warranties over crap like that. Silly. :(

Looks like this is the thread for me! I'm trying to go from the stock brown on the Southard to Orange.

Can anyone post pics of that process (if some type of lightener was used.)???

You won't be able to lighten it as far as I understand it. I do have a box of Rit dye remover, but that shouldn't affect the colored from the factory g10.

Orange? Burnt orange maybe, but you may have to experiment on the back of the scale.

About to dye it. I have the grey italian Coldsteel 4MAX, I plan to use simple green and a toothbrush and water to degrease the knfe. Then holding it by the blade, dunk it assembled in just under the boiling point in red RIT Dymemore until color looks good to me. Then I will use my garage compressor to blow it dry before I use mineral oil to liube it back up. I am to lazy to disassemble and frankly not needed. I plan to post pics with the results. (BTW, I have dyed other knives before and its easy as long as you plan to go darker)
