Congrats to the winner of the giveaway...yiterp! Thank y'all for participating!

Well, this post will mark my 980th post. This will be the starting point for folks to sign up for a special giveaway. My 1000th post will be used to announce the winner.

I had to think quite a bit about what to make as the prize. I think this is either my 4th or 5th giveaway and I have given away a couple of Queen knives as I recall. One was a Queen City Cozy Glen trapper. I know a lot of folks really love the Queen City Cozy Glen SFO canoe and they are getting really hard to find out there so that is what I am going to be giving away.

Now, this one is used but not abused. Blades have a patina and have been sharpened. The bolsters are a little scratched up. The amber wormgroove scales are in great condition and this knife walks and talks great. Did I mention you'll be hard pressed to find one out there for sale nowadays? Supposedly there were around 400 made and possibly 100 in this scale color.

The rules are simple. All are welcome because I want even the new folks to have a chance at having a great example of a traditional pattern. Your post number is your entry. You are welcome to comment if you have ever tried a canoe pattern or not and what your favorite traditional pattern is.

When I reach 999 posts, I will run the post count through a random.org random number generator to select the winner which I will announce on my 1000th post.

Since I post at least once or twice a day, I don't expect this giveaway to run very long so sign up while you can!

I have a couple canoes with this AG Russell being a favorite but in all honesty the barlow is still number one with me. I think it is because my first real knife as a kid was a barlow.

Congrats on your impending 1000 posts! I appreciate being in on this one texasflyfisher. That's a nice looking canoe you are giving away. I don't have much experience with this pattern, I'm sorry to say.

I've never had the pleasure of handling a canoe.
I would like to join in if you don't mind.

what an awesome idea for a giveaway! count me in ;) and congrats on the soon to be 1000 posts!

guess I should add that no I have never had/used a canoe pattern knife, was one of the first patterns that drew me to traditional knives though. I have to say my all time favorite pattern would probably be the stockman..or the trapper......or barlow.

One of my favorites of the canoe pattern is the Case Baby Butterbean:

Spot on. Luciano is one of the good guys (like yourself) that makes this a very special place.:thumbup:
(And I'll excuse myself from this drawing as well in order to help increase the chances for our other members.)

Ahhh the Canoe. The one pattern my Dad speaks of often. I have never tried one but do have a baby butterbean in yeller if I recall. May have to give it a try. I am thinking my new favorite pattern is the Furtaker Trapper as I just won one on the Bay. Yellow Rose is coming my way. Congrats on reaching 1000 posts and thanks for the give away.

I'm in on the contest, thanks for the chance and congrats on 1k.

Never owned a canoe, but would appreciate the chance. Favorite pattern is probably a trapper variation as those seem to dominate my collection coming in a strong second would have to be the Stockman pattern.

Hi,

Ahh, canoes. I really have developed a taste for them myself.

My small Case family,

Well this is my first post on this site although I've been lurking a while. Thanks for the chance and it's always good to see another Texan around.

Canoe patterns are so solid. It is hard to find fault with them. Great giveaway. Thanks for the chance. I'll be doing one at 10,000 which is rapidly approaching.
