Road to 1000 giveaway

Many thanks for a great giveaway, and congratulations on your upcoming 1,000.
A canoe is really one of the most comfortable knives to carry, and can have a really useful combination of blades.

Here is a nice one I just picked up recently. Canal Street Canittler in ram's horn and D2.

Thanks for the chance, I would like in please:thumbup:

I have never had the opportunity to handle/use a canoe pattern, I would love a chance to :D

You know what 'Fisher. You are gonna get what is coming your way one day. I know you have done alot of giveaways and this is one right up there with them. I don't know if karma is real or whatnot, but if it is, your in for a good run here on BladeForums. On another note, the canoe is a pattern I have never tried. Almost was able to get one of the Cozy Glens but my deal fell through. I'd be very interested to try the knife given the chance.

I have got to enter this. I don't own a caneo pattern but have always wanted one. I also don't own any queen knives. Congrats on 1,000 and thanks so much for the chance texasflyfisher.

People like you are what makes this subforum great. :)

Thanx for the chance, Tex! I have never held a canoe. I love everything but I guess by numbers I am a stockman/cattle knife fiend.

You have a lot of great knives man.

Wow! Thanks for the incredibly generous offer. It would be hard to pick a single pattern. I'm discovering I really enjoy multiblade knives. Here's a couple of my favorites out of my limited collection of slip joints thus far

Congrats on 1k!

Thanks for the chance to get this knife. If I get it you won't have to worry about shipping cost. We could meet up for some tacos

Well, this post will mark my 980th post. This will be the starting point for folks to sign up for a special giveaway. My 1000th post will be used to announce the winner.

I had to think quite a bit about what to make as the prize. I think this is either my 4th or 5th giveaway and I have given away a couple of Queen knives as I recall. One was a Queen City Cozy Glen trapper. I know a lot of folks really love the Queen City Cozy Glen SFO canoe and they are getting really hard to find out there so that is what I am going to be giving away.

Now, this one is used but not abused. Blades have a patina and have been sharpened. The bolsters are a little scratched up. The amber wormgroove scales are in great condition and this knife walks and talks great. Did I mention you'll be hard pressed to find one out there for sale nowadays? Supposedly there were around 400 made and possibly 100 in this scale color.

The rules are simple. All are welcome because I want even the new folks to have a chance at having a great example of a traditional pattern. Your post number is your entry. You are welcome to comment if you have ever tried a canoe pattern or not and what your favorite traditional pattern is.

When I reach 999 posts, I will run the post count through a random.org random number generator to select the winner which I will announce on my 1000th post.

Since I post at least once or twice a day, I don't expect this giveaway to run very long so sign up while you can!

Very generous of you! I see you're in Austin, we should get together for a beer some time!

Congrats on nearing 1000 posts!

I've never had a Canoe shape before. Count me in and thanks for the chance.

Thanks for the chance to win.

I've never so much as handled a canoe, but it's a very handsome pattern.

I don't really have a favorite pattern. My knife budget really doesn't allow trying new patterns.

Sweet! The canoe is one of my favs. Thanks in advance.

Here is a pic a of a couple of my canoes.

Only had one Canoe, I gave it away to my nephew, since he needed a knife for work! Been meaning to pick up another one since then.....
