Road trip knives.

When traveling I usually carry knives I don't mind losing. I once forgot I had a CRKT G10 Drifter in my jacket pocket while at an airport. Ended up tossing it in the trash. Didn't bother me too much. If I had a ZT or something on me I would have gone back and left it in the car.

At least five stay in the car at all times. Alox Pioneer and Case Peanut in front console, Victorinox Rescue Tool and Spyderco Military in center console, Opinel no. 7 in car safe.
Vic Classic on key ring.
A few fixed in a bag in the trunk.
Whatever I happen to be carrying at the time.

I carry relatively big folders every day, from PM2 through Military. I always check the knife laws for all places along the trip. If traveling by car I will carry one of the same knives I EDC if legal. When flying we are usually going somewhere with restrictive laws so I dig out one of my old, cheap, tiny knives and carry it.

We used to do a lot of camping and I always carried along a Cold Steel SRK. I don't recall ever using it for anything. I don't have it anymore but these days I would carry something else, maybe a Ratmandu.
