On November 21st "Harpy" and I made a trade; His NIB stainless Spyderco Delica for my "LNIB" Timex Chronograph watch. He received the watch on November 23nd, and was very pleased with it. I received the Delica on November 25th, and was NOT pleased at-all. The Delica was a LONG-way from being NIB, as it had MANY scratches on the scales, the blade was pretty loose, and even the box was pretty beat-up . On the same day that I received the Delica from him, I emailed him to let him know that I was NOT happy with the condition of the Delica :(. After a couple back and forth emails he PROMISED to send a $20 Money Order to me to help make up for the condition of the Delica. I NEVER received a Money Order from him. About 2 weeks ago he emailed me to say that the Money Order had been cashed. I told him that I DID NOT receive (or cash) any Money Order from him, and he promised to send me another one. That was last Monday (Dec. 16th), and I have NOT received "another" Money Order from him, and he has been IGNORING my daily emails to him to let him know that I have NOT received ANY Money Order(s) from him.

Robin, where is my Money Order???..

Dann, do you have the address that you sent the watch to? The reason that I ask this is that a few weeks ago Harpy was posting on a regular basis. Then came a thread where someone posted that he was in fact Dennis J. Sweetser and there has not been one post from him since.

Dann;

I sure hope Keith is wrong, and 'Harpy' isn't Sweetser.

If it turns out that he is, you know you'll never see your cash, or your watch again.

Did you check him out before you agreed to the trade?

Good luck finding this dicksmack, whoever he is. I't not a good idea to burn a moderator, and expect to keep doing business here.

Keith,

Yes, I do...It's an address in Silver Spring, MD. I checked, and I think his last post here was around Nov. 24th.

Mike,

I really didn't see a need to check him out prior to the trade, as I really didn't have all THAT much $ invested in the watch, and he DID say that the Delica was NIB, so I THOUGHT it would be a pretty good trade.:(.

Dennis lives in Maryland. I have a bad feeling about this one.
Me too...But at least I didn't send the Delica back to him to "trade back", and I DID remove the scratches and did tighten-up the loose blade, so it's not too bad. It's just a shame that he burned his bridges with me over $20...

Dann,
If you still have blade play send it in to spyderco with a check for $5.00 they will fix or replace at no charge. Due to the stainless more than likley the will replace it.

More specifically, Dennis lives in Silver Springs,Md.
That sucks Dann but it could have been worse.
Someone in that area really needs to have a "private consultation" with that boy with no witnesses. A good hospital stay could really adjust his attitude and ethics.

What Lifter4Him said !

And feel your pain glockman99 ! !

Please post the POS' snail mail addy and any other info that you have on him.

Since people can register with whatever names they want, I wish people would post addresses.

That way if I'm thinking of doing a deal I can match addresses rather than names.

Normally I WOULDN'T post an address like this, but I am now alittle pissed to think that this guy would LIE to me and rip me off like he did, when the TRUTH and $20 would have made it all ok. Also, as sort of a "funny" note to this...I told him that $15 would be ok to even-out the trade, but he told me that he was going to send $20...That it would make him feel better about the deal. Robin (DENNIS?), if you are reading this, I DO hope that you feel better now..

Maybe someone will go have a chat with him, hold him upside-down by his ankles and shake that $20 out of him.

BTW...I thank you ALL for your support in this small but frustrating matter. Have a GREAT Christmas!.:).

Note: A fellow forumite has just emailed "Harpy"s (Robins'/Dennis') phone number to me, so I have posted it so if someone who lives near him might want to give him a (3:00am) phone call to see what's up...(I'd call him myself, but I don't have a cell phone with free long distance calling, and I don't want to waste any money on this guy.).

glockman99. . .thanks for posting the info !

I honestly think that there should be a permanent sticky on this forum that allows knife knuts the ability to post the names/info of those who have screwed us over !

Check the address on this card.
...Interesting...It looks like we DO have a winner here...So Robin/"Harpy"/Dennis IS the same guy....

Dann, you may still receive that $20, things can and do get lost, email and ask for the Money Order # and call USPS up and see when and if they know where it was cashed at?

Sorry to hear the knife wasn't in as described condition, but sounds like it is coming together just the same.

I just received another email from a fellow forumite, and it appears that Harpy/Robin/Dennis is now posting at BladeForums as "The Commander"..

Thanks for posting the info.I keep the names and addresses of people I trade with in a address book.So far him and joebe are the only ones I have wrote in it with DO NOT TRADE above there names.:grumpy:

By running a search on the user-name "The Commander", I discovered that Dennis is ALSO using the user-name "Waiter4u"..

I have posted this problem at "The Back End", so the wheels are set in-motion to deal with Dennis Sweetster, aka Robin Hawkins, aka The Commander, aka Waiter4u, and whatever incarnation he will come up with next...

I REALLY doubt if I will ever see that $20 (eventho I could really use the $), but it is beyond that now....
