Stupid move on my part.. I tried to open a paint can with a coldsteel Sparta after sharpening it... Well it totally slipped and sliced my thumb pretty deep. Probably needed 3 stitches, "I could feel the two sides moving independently".. instead I wrapped it up really tight with raw honey for two days. Well a week later its completely healed over. I've heard of raw honey works wonders, now I know it does!
The wife wanted a new family room set up so I made her a new set. T.v. stand, coffee table and two end tables. Glad I can use my union taught carpentry skills once and a while.

Well this weekend was my birthday and it was a pretty fine one at that... Got to see all my family and had a really good time with them. I don't know what I did to deserve the love they give but I am so grateful for it... Wife gave me a very slick leather trifold swiss wallet, and took me out for an amazing steak dinner. Also was given a Ken Onion Work sharp, a google nexus 7, and a dremel with multiple attachments. All from family... Overwhelmed is an understatement. Gifts aside I am very grateful that I have such an amazing family, I know they are hard to come by. Very lucky guy...

Very nice. I'm still stuck in El Paso until Thursday, but I did vote. I requested an absentee ballot which was mailed from Belton, TX, on 21 Oct...didn't arrive at the hotel in El Paso until 1 November. I had to pay $19.99 to the Post Office yesterday to get it overnighted to the Election Clerk. Do I get bonus points?

I got hooked up today, been looking for a good anvil for a long time. But prices around here if you can find them are ridiculous, to the tune of $500. bucks for a 150 lb...... thats not gonna happen. A buddy of mine called me friday afternoon and asked if I had found one yet. He was on the other line with his mother that found a 250 lb anvil at auction in Nashville Ten. Wanted to know if I wanted her to bid on it for me and what a good price is. I told her a dollar a lb. Convinced that wouldn't even come close to buying it, I thanked her and pretty much forgot about it as soon as I hung up the phone. Low and behold, she called me back 10 minutes later and said she won the auction at $220. bucks. A steal for this piece. Its in great shape to and even has a couple of tools included for the hardy hole. Cant wait to play around with this thing. Gonna have to build me a forge now.

Got my 15 from Dex yesterday, always feel like a kid opening a Christmas present when a BK box arrives at my house! and again - BUY FROM DEX!!! even more so if you are a Beckerhead, it's a no-brainer to support your team. And I got a little hand written note with the ss hardware and a phone #, good to have even if it's a bit flirtatious from Dex I thoroughly searched the box but there was not a single piece of that fabulous beard in there to be found

On this other side I think there is some letter and numbers and such. I think I saw some numbers at the feet which I am told signify the weight X 10. So a #25 means 250 lbs. I just kinda saw it in passing today, haven't got it back to my shop yet. Kinda funny, my buddies mom that bid and got it for me is a real pistol. Reminds me of how you described your mom to me Trade. She's gotta be knockin on the door of 70 years old. she drove it up here in the trunk of her car and it took 3 grown men to get it out. I asked her. "Linda, how in the hell did you get this thing from the auction to here by yourself?" Her response. "I picked it up and put it in my purse. Whats your excuse you big pussy?l

I priced a new 250 lb. anvil on the interweb. Found a new one for $1400. bucks. Happy as can be with the $220. price tag on this one.
