The pictures that Hollowdweller posted in the dead trees thread, showing a long limestone escarpment, made me think. Geology is my one true love in life, and I love good rock. So post your favorite pictures of rocks - small, large, outcrops, ridgelines, etc, I want to see them. I'll start with some from my area.

Those pics rock !!! Sorry had to say it !!!!!

I actually love seeing different rock formations as well, mind you I like anything to do with nature period !!!

Ilbruche - that reminds me, it has been a while since I visited my parents in Hurricane. The Zion NP area has some great formations!

Great pictures! Way too much loose rock though... hiking there has to be slow in summer (not to say climbing being dangerous as well!). I will probably just go there in winter when the ice and snow keeps the rocks welded toghether.

There is a few places (and routes) here in Spain that I only do in winter (maybe early spring) so we benefit from the remaining snow and ice.

Just awesome. I got a thing for rock formations too. But they are nothing like the ones in the Sierra, I love it there!

I love rocks, you better if you live in Utah. :) Some great picks, so far, I'll add a few from our travels around the area.

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing!

I hope someday I'll be able to get into backpacking and see that area for myself.
