• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Rocks, rocks, and more rocks!

Rocks can be lovely.

Haven't been to a lot of places with cool rocks, but these were pretty good.

For some reason all my decent pictures of rocks are from the road

Now this is what I was looking for! Keep it up, show more!

And no, I'm not from Hurkin, I grew up in upstate NY. My parents moved to Hurkin a few years ago.

Here are some more pictures, these are from Pinnacles National Monument:

Here is a 10' tall boulder by Upper Monarch Lake, Mineral King, Sequoia NP, that looks like it was cut cleanly by a knife:

And to complement my other picture of the east face of the Whaleback in Cloud Canyon, Kings Canyon NP, here is a view from a different angle. Remarkable difference depending on you viewpoint. This one is looking at the narrow end of the Whaleback, so you don't see the long ridge extending behind it.

John Bryant State Park is correct! I usually hike from Yellow Springs (Glen Helen)to Clifton Gorge via John Bryant S.P.

I've been there a couple times. One time was in April and it was wet and there were all these cool falls coming off the rock face there and ramps growing everywhere.

Last time I was there I saw a bee tree right on the trail:thumbup:

great pics everyone... those are some amzing rock formations....

lambertiana- great pics as usual... that place is epic man... it's been quite a while since i've been in that area....

Ilbruche, I'll bet it's in Utah but damned if I know where. My guess would be somewhere around Zion , maybe even Snow Canyon, St George.
