Oh folksy ones; the term Rogers Bone gets tossed about with abandon sometimes. I wish I'd been an active collector when it was first being produced, so I'd know more about it. Let's look at some alleged Rogers bone, and figure it out. If you want to know your traditional knife stuff, this is one of the basics!!
Here are 12 knives a longer shot and a closer shot, of 6 each. Are they or aren't they Rogers legendary bone??
And by all means, show us nice clear pictures of yours!!

I'm no collector, so I have no idea what Rogers bone is or isn't. My only old slipjoint has what the seller called "Rodgers bone." Don't know if that applies.

Well I'll tell you like Bernard Levine told me. If you can't prove the Bone came from the Rogers Bone Co. factory it's all supposition. Well I'm to damn dumb not to opine on this as everybody has a opinion, mine are usually wrong. But here goes. Every Knife you have shown looks to me to be early Rogers Bone. Some has been pocket worn and some looks to be ground to much during hafting.

I have several early and late Rogers Bone Knives I'll try to get pictures later.

After looking at pix again I think one knife has late rogers bone. I'm not going to say which one at this time..

To me the Craftsman (top pic, 5th knife from the left) looks a lot like "Roger's jigging", but I could be dead wrong; even more so than usual, since my eyes are still dilated from the trip to the eye doc late today. :D.

I've stared at that knife, and the ones near it 'til I am cross-eyed, Gus. The jig is the same. The uniform color creates an illusion of difference, I think.
Given BRL's statement, quoted by D.Parker, maybe we can only say Rogers STYLE jigging?????
Two of mine are definitely not Rogers (style). Can anyone see which ones??
Kamagong, I think yours is the real stuff. Absintheur, I think yours is something else - what though??
Darrell, I look forward to your pics! We will all know a lot more when this thread peters out:) Ain't we got fun??:D

The only two I have any doubt about are the 2 on the far right in 3rd and 4rd bottom pix. I thought they were pocket worn..

Gus I think you are correct, and that one is late Rogers Bone I think because of the Red Tone...

Kamagong yours is early Rogers Bone and if both sides match and are chip and crack free you can probably sell the handles for more than you gave for the knife.. They are about as pretty as you find..

This is 50-50 Jim but I think they are.. The jigging looks a little to course but the pattern is about correct and the color is old but looks ok...

James, yours looks just like Kamagong's (before the accident:D).
It is interesting that both of those look a little more "multi-layered" than most of my examples.
Absintheur's look like they were cut using a different method than what we are assuming is Rogers.

Someone is going to have 1/2 of a set then, I sent the knife off to someone to do something special to it, and make it an EDC. Did not know about the bone. Oh well, Vince you should have told me. ;)

The other side is fractured also, Jim. Don't feel bad!

My Rogers-esque bone.. Gotta do'em single. Snowing out so can't do a group shot.

Old stored photos...

Really? Do people really buy old knife components? Interesting bit of information. Here's a couple of more pictures, one of each side.

kamagong yes people do buy old knife parts. Wouldn't those handles look great on a new Stockman Pattern with that blade configuration and shape, buy one of the top custom makers. I don't know who sold that knife but I sure wouldn't have.. Lucky find for you..

I'm a little cross eyed myself
But I'll guess at 2 on the bottom photo, from the left, the 3rd the 5th are not Rodgers bone?
