Rolex Deepsea

How did you pay for it? Thought you were living on tax payer welfare? You could have pulled your life back together with that money.

That's a nice watch, and I like it better than the Submariner. I don't have any Rolex's but I do enjoy nice, mechanical watches and have a few from Omega, Sinn, and others.

By bank wire transfer ;)

Sometimes we kick around terms without understanding what they mean. I've done it myself. Here we must distinguish the difference between VA compensation for service connected disability and Welfare. A disability is a form of impairment of condition; hearing loss, skin condition, etc. Someone may very well be able to run a marathon and have a VA disability. Regardless, most of what others have is not our business unless fraud is considered. He/ she served, earned it, and medical staff awarded it. It's not a form of welfare and shouldn't be compared to illegals collecting food stamps. Sensing anger your post I wonder if jealousy is involved here.

I have my life together, dude. Not a single cent of your taxpayer money went to this purchase, so mind your own futhermucking 'usiness, basshole.

Nice score. Sour grapes much with that uk dude..a quick search of him turns up other posts along those lines...

Plenty of guys drop $10K on a used bass boat or a pop-up camper that gets used 5 times and then decomposes behind their garage for the next 9 years until it is hauled to the dump. But a high end watch gets used and fondled 30x every day for the next 20 years. So I'm all in favor of this kind of toy, because unlike a bass boat it makes you feel good every 20 minutes. I want one.

WTG!! It only costs 90 per cent more to go first class. Enjoy it. And watches like that get more valuable daily.

Ignore that muppet. He's just filled with jealousy and rage because he will never be able to own a timepiece like this.

Being on VA and SS disability myself, I get irritated at those who throw around the term Entitlements like it is a scam. Yeah, I'm entitled. I bled for this country and paid into SS my working life. Rock that Deepsea, Charlie Mike. You earned it the hard way.

As long as the seller is one that is well known, a grey market watch usually isn't too much problems. Rolex offers a two year warranty I believe, and it's very unlikely the watch will have any problems within that timeframe, despite Rolex's reliability compared to some of the other high end brands. You won't get a discount or anything on watch servicing whether it is bought from an authorized retailer, or grey market. Grey market just means Rolex can't authorize its authenticity because they don't have any record of it being sold to anyone from a dealer that is set up with them.

Nice watch!

Sweet watch! One of these days maybe I could swing one. Hurt me to hit the send button on a 550.00 TSAR.

For that price I would have rather bought the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor or even a Panerai Luminor Submersible.

Still a very nice Rolex though.

But you won't.

OP. Congratulations on awesome piece! What happens to the Sub? Out the door?

Keeping it. I'll send it to Rolex Service Center for full service and then put it in the safe.

Spoken with truth and honesty. I used to look at things people spend their money on and think what a waste, then I looked at the way I spend mine and thought what's the difference. Ya, it might be something different but whatever they enjoy is their business. We all have our own likes and tastes. More power to Charlie for buying what he likes.
