Rolex, do you deserve one?

My Submariner is nice, but a bit heavy and too thick. Out of the 60+ watches I have, I like a Seiko Wave I've got (never seen another one) because I don't have to worry about the time being wrong, and it's thin, and good to 10ATM. It averages about 3 seconds a month error. No automatic watch will do that.

I have a Rolex Oyster. I bought it 6 months ago before I got married when it was my money and not our money. I wear it everyday and enjoy it. I am now looking for one for the wife. I figure that it will last me the rest of my life and i'll never need to buy another watch.

A girl I worked with said she could never spend $2000 on a watch and I said how much do you spend a year on cigerates? I said I'll have the watch after I spend the money what will you have? black lung?

I've got a few G-shocks, an Omega SMP and a Sieko SKX171K (200m auto diver with the brushed steel bezel) The seiko gets by far the most wrist time.

My Dad had an old, very old Rolex that he sent back to the factory for repair. I still have the original paperwork. He sent it back to the factory for repair, they sent it back saying that it was such an old model, they wouldn't repair it. They told him to buy a newer one.

Needless to say, we've both worn Seiko ever since. I don't see the "status" in Rolex, but I've never been a watch person.
