ROLL CALL!! Becker Forum Newbs Sound Off!!

Hi, I'm usually just a lurker here in the Becker Forum but have been posting more recently; I usually hang out in the knifemaker forums seeing what i can learn from the experts. Right now, I own a BK-4, BK-11, BK-13 (prize from PWYP2012), a Becker/Ritter RSK, and a BK15. I've been making knives as a hobby for about two years now but still enjoy other knives as well and modding my BK15 was a lot of fun.

I hope this is okay. Here is a link to some of my knives:

Randy you do some amazing work sir!

hey guys, ladies too. I am new-ish, since Dec 2011. My name is Dan..... and I'm a Beckeraholic. Although I only have a few Beckers at the moment, i find that as of late the only thing i want to do online is go to the forum and figure out how i can get my next fix (Becker). Its truly an addiction :) I am an aspiring Beckerhead and soon to be paying member. Thanks for being so welcoming to us Noobs.

I second everything tman038 just said. It's great to have a place to go with so many like minded people.

I'm new here too and certainly don't qualify as a Beckerhead yet. Have a BK9 and recently picked up a BK15. The BK9 has micarta/stripped/Skystorm sheath mods and it's been great chopping the hell out of the back yard. So far the BK15 has been used for kitchen duty only. These are great knives and such a blast to mod!!

Shut up noobs!

Jk it's a forum chat away.

But you WILL pay for your insubordination later......

Kinda new here, as I mostly lurk in the Becker sub group. I've owned a 2, but passed it on as a Christmas present when I was short of funds. I Currently own a CSM11 with turquois micarta bought off the bay. It sees alot of household use! I've bought & gifted more 11's than most people see in their lifetime. Can't wait for my local brick & mortar to get the tweeners in as I'm married & the boss keeps track of my bank statement, but if it just shows up & I pay cash, she thinks I already owned it so... I started lurkin' here, because ya'll seem like a pretty decent buncha fellers, & well, there's no other subgroup with as much daily mod threads as you guys. Hopefully get my # in the next year or so & I'll be one o' ya'll.

Hi, I'm new. Just got my bk9 2 days ago and had to change my pants shortly after. I plan to lurk lots more and post more when I hopefully won't sound as dumb :)

Ocassional lurker until I nabbed my first Becker the other week (BK16). I'm a sucker for 4" drop point blades and the ergos, flat grind, weight, and price of the BK16 make it an outstanding value. Now you enablers got me looking at the Machax! I've been on a spree lately with gear (funny how that always happens when spring approaches). The credit card is a little bruised, but should be all healed up for next month. :D

You've gotten to third base. Wait until you wield a BK9 in your sweaty paws....The tweeners (what we called the shorts before now) are great, but the magic still lies in the full sized Beckers. You'll see.....

The good news is that the Shorts are pulling in fresh people, just like we figured they would. Once you try and punish a slab of Ka-Bar heat treated 1095cv Ethan Becker designed goodness out in the woods, you won't trust another knife maker again.

Oh yeah, I've already got a BK2 on the way and starting to look at the BK9 or BK7. The more I use the Tweeners, the more I'm impressed with the design and construction. Also nice to have a knife made in the US.

sorry to hijack the 'hi to the new guys thread', but this is a hi to the new guy question. How NW montana are you? i'm Spokane, fish around St Regis all the time. Get to Libby and/or Glacier intermittently.

Kalispell Montana Area and Archery Elk hunt around St. Regis. I'm about 30 mins Glacier Park Nice to meet you.

I just picked up my first two Beckers in the last week. Picked them up from another forum so got a good deal!

The first is a striped and well used BK11 necker. It took some work to get it sharp but she's fine now. I really like the blade and I think it may get me to pick up a 14 Escabar. I ordered some nice wood scales off the bay and they really helped with the feel of it.

I also got a BK2. It's a generation one with the solid handles and without the extended pommel. This one did not need any help on the edge and was very sharp. I was really impressed with how well a big knife like this can slice. I've been able to get out and do some chopping with it and it was great. I've got a set of scales on the way for this one as well

I mounted the 11 to the 2 with 550 cord and like the setup and want to find a custom sheath setup the same way for them. I really like the Beckers and look forward to picking up some more maybe a tweener the Escabar and at least one more not sure.

That's how I got into Beckers and thought I'd stop in and say hello from Missouri.

Jump on in, the water's fine!

I'm fairly new to the forum....I've been lurking around for a while and trying to learn some things. I'm looking forward to the Spring Gathering at Ethan's and getting to know some more of you that are going to be there.

Just got my first Becker, a Machax. I plan on getting a BK2 and maybe one of the new shorties soon. Definitely liking the 4.

Hello from eastern NC! Been around the forum for a while, but just entered the Becker business by getting a Camillus 10/crewman. Added a spec ops sheath for it, and am now looking for micarta handles, and a Becker necker! What's this addiction?

I've been lurking over here since I became a member of the forums, but I haven't posted much since I haven't bit the bullet on a Becker yet. Been preoccupied with Bussekin. My next knife will be a Becker though.
