Wow.. I am jealous... I love that knife.. What an Incredible Project..
Congratulations... Really Exciting Thread..
Respect..

damn that's hot.

One of the coolest features of this knife is that the takedown nut is hidden by the takedown buttcap.

O Yeah! Fantastic knife and fantastic maker! Ron knows what he's doing. Congrats on a superlative piece Roger!

i have re-read this thread a few times and all i can do is scratch my head in amazement!

just a stunning piece done by a tue master!

thanks for posting the WIP pics roger!

lately have really making effort to follow WIP threads, it has taken alot of the "magic" out of how these knives are made but has given me a greater appreciation of the time and effort and true artistry that it takes to make knives of this caliber!

I think this the latter is better than magic ;)

thanks you!!

Jeff

I would love to see the look on your face Roger as you unwrap this master piece! Incredible work Ron! Thanks for posting the WIP and Chuck Ward's artistic capture of that super fine pice.
I can hardly wait to see what Coop does with it.....

Amazing work. A real pleasure and privilege to see such a great artist and craftsman work. Very nice Roger and a great photo by Mr.Ward
Looking forward to seeing Paul's and Coop's contributions to the the project.

Very, very nice.

Kind regards,

Congratulations Roger, that is one fine knife! And THANKS for the great thread.

Thanks again guys. I got word from Paul that the sheath is complete, so it won't be long until the entire package is in Coop's hands.

I couldn't agree more Jeff - and the truth of it is, the skill, expertise and dedication that go into making knives such as these impresses me far more than the puffed-up "magic" ever did.

One of the coolest features of this knife is that the takedown nut is hidden by the takedown buttcap.

I think that's pretty neat, too.

The damascus wrench with the interchangeable bits ain't too shabby either.

The package arrived safe and sound today, and I am indeed one very happy camper. :) I had high expectations given the maker of this piece - which were further raised by the WIP and pro photos. They have been exceeded by the knife itself. It's flat out terrific.

Here are some pics by my buddy Coop to round out what we have seen to this point. I think shooting the takedown tools in an action inset was an inspired choice:

Paul Long certainly didn't disappoint - the sheath could not be a more perfect compliment to the knife itself and the tooled pouch for the takedown tools was a nice surprise:

In the WIP spirit, Coop also shared a pic of his set-up for the inset pic - which I thought was a pretty cool little peek into his own skilled work. In Coop's words: "This was complicated, but fun. I’d set the whole thing up and then move a mirror a touch and that little screw would just roll out of the frame. Then in replacing it I’d knock over the cap and it all went to hell. I did this about three times."

Finally, I hoped to show a bit more of the shimmer action in this blade in a quick video. The weather kept me inside with crappy lighting - I'll sub in something better down the road, but this still shows it off a little bit. Click on the image below and it should launch the vid.

My thanks again to all involved. This was a rewarding project and I am fortunate to have this terrific piece to call my own.
