RoseCraft Knives

Ive been reading about blade tangs in regards to slipjoints, and initially I arrived at a conclusion too soon that a rounded tang that meets a flat surface of a back spring is not good, but in fact im reading that a rounded tang allows the knife to open and close more smoothly as the blade tang is not sliding along the bolster--- now im looking at a boker integral and a rosecraft lambsfoot senator, and I see the boker blade tang is rounded but the rosecraft knife, both the blade tang and back spring have sharp flat corners. While this gives it a flush clean appearance if you close the rosecraft knife ever so slightly you'll see [and hear] the blade tang sliding alongside the bolster. After doing this a few times there are slight grind marks on the blade tang. I have two of the same rosecraft and they both do it. I wish they'd taper the tang ever so...
Just my findings.

I think it comes down to economics, which leads to tolerances. These Rosecraft are inexpensive, and seem to do well, at their price point. Pay more, fit and finish go up.

That does look good Kurt. I like the way it evens out the finish.
Ok, I'll try it.πŸ˜ƒ
Thanks Bob. I await seeing how yours comes out. I lighted sanded it with 3000 grit paper. Then I used some water to clean it. I used Angelus Leather Dye color Honey. After a coat of dye I waited a few hours then put a coat of wax on it. Probably should have waited overnight for drying but I have no patience. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Thanks for your input. I have some leather dye too. I could buy some for wood, but that would be wasted.
Definite improvement.
