RoseCraft Knives

- interesting. There appears to be two styles of jigging.

Mine, for example, and jmh33 jmh33 is ‘three rivers’, and cbach8tw cbach8tw and unclekurty unclekurty is ‘stony brook’ ;)

All, really great 👍🏻

Going to try and round the scales off a little, together with a couple other Rosecraft folders - hence thread about dyeing bone and antler.

I was to the understading that these are jigged by a hand. Using a Dremel tool.. Maybe different people jigged different bone???🤔
John :)

……..simply not good enough - photos, or it didn’t happen ;)
When I came to The Porch more than 11 years ago, that was a frequent "rallying cry" about knives.
I've been led to believe that now, as we've entered the "AI age", photos are no longer a reliable indicator of reality. (I suppose that's been true for quite a while with digital photos and apps like Photo Shop.)

- indeed, I fully understand, GT :)

I was actually simply adding some jollity into the thread...........whether my post was responded to or not..!

If I ever had anything ‘serious’ to say, it would either not be said by me at all, or, by private message. I own and run UK's knife forum..........I know too well how some remarks can be taken the wrong way when the person isn't standing / sitting in front of you..!

Yes, you're quite right too - AI can lead many astray with photos that aren't what they really seem.

In spite of them all being quite traditional, Case standard offerings and GEC are pretty different animals from RoseCraft. Case and GEC have more of a handmade feel to them, with subtle little quirks and characteristics that let you know the craftsmanship involved in their manufacture. Rosecraft have a more precise, crisp, machine made feel to them, a pinnacle of modern manufacturing. They remind me a lot of the limited Case-Bose Collaboration knives, but without the premium steel and handle materials. RoseCraft are a definite value buy, especially for the modern OHO crowd who are dipping their toes into the traditional market.

- unless they are truly wicked flippers (our Border Control would destroy 'em) we've not seen a single OHO Rosecraft our side o' the pond - sadly.!
