Rough profiling stone recommendations

FortyTwoBlades FortyTwoBlades Have you tried the purple "3M Pro Grade Precision with Cubitron II" paper yet? Cloth-backed Cubitron II abrasive should last longer still, but I don't believe it would be as easy to work with.
Can't say as I've played with that particular product, no.

I’ve used the DMT XXC equivalent. The DIA-FLAT and it will easily reprofile an edge. I got it for flattening my Waterstones mainly but did use it for knives time to time. While it will take off steel in a hurry I prefer the speed and economy of an 8x3 Coarse Crystolon. They are very fast as well.

Never tried the Atoma’s but it’s either hit and miss with them. People either like them or they don’t. Any reputable brand diamond stone will work.

Good luck.

Ok so I purchased the Atoma 140 and it arrived super quickly.

So far I am really impressed. It managed to straight out a Plane Iron that I was getting nowhere with on my King 240 and then I went on to flatten my existing water stones.

Thanks everyone in steering my in the right direction.
