Rough Rider & Related Slipjoints

I know this question is no doubt answered somewhere in this thread but if someone would please humor me I'd appreciate it. Where are the Marble knives currently being manufactured? Thanks

Looks like the newer ones are being made in China, probably right along side the Rough Riders.

Chip, I totally agree with your assessment of the RR cannitler!:cool::thumbsup: I have two of them, a smooth tobacco bone like yours and an amber jigged bone, and they're a couple of my favorite knives. Here's a pic of my amber jigged bone version:

I came across another Lockback Whittler on the site last night...ordered two:oops:

I haven't tried the Steel Warrior line yet, fingers crossed:)

The description says Wharnecliffe Whittler so I'm not sure what I'll get, but the pic looked too nice to pass up. It looks like the lockbar is full width unlike the cannittler (my only real gripe). The description also says "Made in USA", so we'll see what shows up, lol.

Looking forward to a review WValtakis WValtakis
I have a small steel warrior sheath knife only 2 complaints the edge bevel needed thinned some, and the sheath is crap. But the knife is decent. I've heard the steel warriors are hit and miss, like the shield on the one in the pic, the button shield with a samurai on it looks off on a traditional pocket knife imo. If its good and made in the USA great!

Got here today :) Quite nice for the price, only fit and finish issues would be the covers and even they're not glaring. Blades are a little thick, but that's easy to fix and the lockup is perfect. Very similar to the Case/Bose Whittlers I've had and way slimmer to boot ;)

I just got a new Rough Rider and it is a keeper. It did have some blade rub on one side of the main blade but it is going to be a user. All the blades have half stops. No gaps. No blade play. Really well done at any price. This is the Carbon Classic Swayback Whittier. (RR1741) Not sure if the steel is 1070 or T10 but it sharpened up nice. The steel felt harder than Condors 1070 but who knows. It is perfect for whittlin and feather stick making. If I pair this up with the Kephart and a tomahawk, I am ready for my backyard. Enjoy the pics.

The main blade has a taper for a fine tip.
