Rough Rider & Related Slipjoints

I have been thinking of getting one of these. I have a couple of RR's and like their quality and finish. You would recommend the smaller version over the larger one? I was looking at the smaller one.

Here are the two small Cotton Samplers. Smooth Tobacco Bone and Jigged Bone. F&F are very high on these two the Jigged slightly better as the Smooth has mismatched sides in terms of colour. Very nice small knives which slice cheeses and salami surprisingly well yet unlike the full-size pattern are not unwieldy. Recommended.

Thanks for your opinion/review, Will!:thumbsup::cool:
I've also been having the large vs small debate with myself, and your post has pushed me over the edge. ;) So I'll be ordering a small (for now ).

I have the same two, ordered on impulse when I first saw them here. Just the thing to serve up a pinch of snuff, or to spoon a dab of caviare onto a toast point. Conchita loved them when she saw them, but asked for the larger size. It would surprise me if she ever used it; they are purely objets for her.

I have a Rams Horn small stockman, i was thinking of having an attempt at smoothing the handles and trying to polish them up. Do you have any suggestions. I have never attempted any thing like this before.

Really nice work! I'm thinking a whale and a giant squid in an epic battle, for your next project!;)
Thank you. That would be epic; I'd have to do it on the big sailor's knife. I'd need the room!
I'm thinking something Western themed on your next Rough Rider. It would go well with the horseshoe stamp on the bolster.
Thanks for the suggestion. If I do another Barlow, you're right, a western theme would fit the pattern.

Nice looking pair

I've always hoped RR would but a standard blade on that fame

or better still bring out a boys knife...
