When I dropped this Zorro knife in my cart, I thought it was a small Penknife!![]()

Why do RR produce so many knives with Spey blades?!![]()

Nice Sunfish.First foray into RR and maybe I shouldn't have tried an elephant toe, lol, since its not a pattern I'm even familiar with, but I couldn't resist the ridiculousness of this.
Its shockingly decent. Main blade is a little gritty, but not bad, and F&F is fine for the price point. I don't hate the bolsters, though I'd be happier if they didn't have that massive R, but the shield is a miss with the Rough Rider text in it.
I don't think I'll ever carry this, its too large, but I guess that saves me chasing down a GEC in this size and blowing 20 times the money, lol.
I'd like to eventually find a single smaller blade sunfish with an easy open down the line to try instead.
In terms of RR, I'm more interested in the Reserve line if anyone can point me in that direction, looking for things the size of a 15 pattern maybe and easy open.
This think might get dyed purple just for the heck of it.

So unscrupulus "people" don't try to pass the RR off as one of the fairly rare and now expensive vintage Camillus made Riders of The Silver Screen.Don't know why RR used a spey instead of a spear on this pattern, but I'm not "put off" by spey blades. Maybe RR's blade choice philosophy is "Use the best, and ignore the rest!"
How well are these put together? I just ordered the teardrop jack to check out the pattern and the series.
Hi Rhinofly, those three are solid knives, well built, and have great blades and action. The teardrop is nice, light, with good handling. The two blade barlow and trapper are thick knives and a bit heavy, but I also like them in hand. How well are these put together?.
I’ll second that, I have the Barlow and it has no F&F issues.Hi Rhinofly, those three are solid knives, well built, and have great blades and action. The two blade barlow and trapper are thick knives and a bit heavy, but I also like them in hand.
Nice pickup Silent H, I wish they would do a barlow in that green Micarta.I went in to my local hardware store looking for a Case Copperhead yesterday, but all their orders from the Case factory are still delayed. However, they did get their first shipment of Rough Rider knives this week, and out of curiosity I checked some of them out. I was genuinely surprised at the quality and ended up taking this one home.

I agree, I'd also like to see a Stockman in green micarta too.
I noticed that too Gary. I was intrigued by posts about this knife, went to check it out and saw the $24.99 price. I wonder if the original price was a mistake or if they are taking advantage of a knife that’s getting some traction.Went to see about getting the green one of these, and I see they bumped the price up from $14.99 to $24.99 a sizeable hop but at even that price I think it's one of the better ones they have produced, if I had the extra right now I might still grab a green one but I will wait.
