Rough Rider & Related Slipjoints

All this talk of single blade barlows and I had to go and make one of those too.

Nice job.

This is IMHO one of the best full sized stockman available for a reasonable price. Great fit and finish and the D2 blades are very sharp out of the box. I also like that they replaced the spey with a cap lifter. Oh yeah, this is a RR Reserve.

Just saw some upcoming models become listed on a drop ship dealer, no photos yet:
Blue Swirl Razor Barlow
Black Copper Swirl Cub
Black Copper Swirl Small Leg
Black Copper Swirl Canoe
Black Copper Swirl Sowbelly

Sounds like acrylic covers?

This RR 1074 Lockback Whittler from Rough Rider's Outdoor Series with Tobacco Smooth Bone covers gifted to me by Todd bigfish64 bigfish64 is very nice. Tight build and no blade play at the lockup. I really like the acorn shield.

This is one of my all-time-favorite RR knives. I had one and gave it to my son and since have not been able to replace it. I really like this pattern a lot and the outdoorsman version is the best, in my opinion.

I think I fixed it.
The screwdiver caplifter blade match strike pull was a mite shallow. Thumbnail kept slipping off.

I got tired of fighting it and decided to use my faux Dremel to deepen it.
inadertently removed the match strike, but the nail nick is deep enough now my thumb nail don't slip off when trying to open it. :D
RR533 Amber Bone Scout/Camp knife.

EDIT: For some unexplained reason the pull also went from a nine or ten on that blade/tool to a five. :)

I had a RR trapper with the same problem. I used a Dremel cutoff wheel to cut it deeper and now it seems like a completely different knife and much nicer to use.

l couldn't post pictures back in circa 2016 when I got it. (I mentioned getting it, somewhere in the previous 200 pages.)
Taylor Schrade Hammer Brand 4 blade gunboat canoe with red picked bone covers. 3.625 inch closed.
I'm pretty sure it was under $15 back then.

I don't know if Mr. Taylor held on to the Hammer Brand and possibly a couple others, when he sold out to BTI in circa 2017.

I've asked BTI if there will be any Hammer Brand or NYKC coming out, but the young lady I spoke to says they only have the Schrade family brands of Imperial, Old Timer, Uncle Henry, and Schrade.
