Rough Rider & Related Slipjoints

"If only" the lockbacks were 110/7OT size. Be an affordable alternative to the (somewhat rare and expensive) scrolled Aluminum Buck 111.
I wonder if there was a matching large stockman?
I do not remember them having one, but it was over a decade ago.

Hm, so I watched some video reviews of the one-armed jack and some folks mentioned the half-stop interfering with the one-hand opening functionality. Can anyone speak to their experience with the RRR one-hand jack in that regard?
I do not have this model, but you may have more luck if you look into the dedicated RRR thread, in this sub-forum

Don't see these much (or at all), so I thought I'd post it. RR 1441 Boot Scooter. I'd say it is actually a souvenir than a knife (pretty dull, wobbling, always tends to close by itself), but interesting enough to try one. I remember they said it is made after the vintage one from their collection, though the original exhibit was a women's shoe.

This has been said many times but I have to repeat it. I’ve owned knives that cost 50X what this did but I didn’t get 50X my money’s worth.View attachment 1907757
I hear you joeradza. Had these yellow versions for long time and thought they were really well made. Your posts re: the burlap scales made me order one!
Note the different model # RR718. That was the first one I bought. Number changed to RR818 I guess.
Also no swedges on the yellow ones.

Got my RRR one-arm jack and really like it. A pure slicer of course, but wonderful at that particular job. Thin high grind, came shaving sharp (not a perfect grind by any means but way better than Case), fit and finish generally at least on par with Case (only issue is very minor gaps in a couple of areas, can see a bit of light when backlit but otherwise not apparent.

Gave it a flush and some Super Lube and the walk and talk are satisfying, I'd say again on par with my small set of experiences with Case. Perfectly flush springs open and close, a tiny bit proud at the half stop.

The one-hand opening gives me absolutely no trouble, I find hooking it on a belt loop feels secure and comfortable. Take 1/2" of length off the pattern and add a secondary wharncliffe or coping blade for when you need a point and it'd be perfect.

Will not hesitate to snag some more in the future.

Edit: On second inspection side by side with my Peanut, I take it back: RRR has significantly nicer fit and finish.

If you're unfamilar with these Queen traditional knives here's a good review.
I love these Queen knives though the color somehow reminds me of a cockroach. 🤣

Still, they did a great job with them.

I think Rough Ryder purchased them and moved the production to China but I'm not sure.

I'd love to see more like these with a variety of scale materials like burled wood or horn.

I was holding out for them or RR to make a boys knife but I'm quite taken by their Doctors knife

Can you tell us more about the toothpicks, particularly the middle knife
They are mini toothpicks, similar to the Buck mini toothpick.
very good walk and talk, no halfstop. The middle one is Stag, charred most likely.

I assume they are still being made.

I find them more useful than a Peanut.
