Rough Rider & Related Slipjoints

Yeah.....the nail nicks are different. RR has those serrated (don't think that's the word but it's close) nail nicks that I'm not a fan of.
Would you happen to have a pic of the rail splitter looking down on it? I'd like to get an idea how thick it is. Or....if no pic...how about a measurement.

Thanks.

It's 5/16ths of an inch thick, including the scales

Carbon is coming, they keep telling me, I keep bugging them :D

Best regards

Robin

now that is interesting news

hope they bring something out like GEC's #74 but with a single clip blade - well if GEC dont get there act together that is

something wrong with GEC's act?

Only that I'm in desperate need for a single blade #74 and they arn't deliverying - would just like something similar to fill the gap until they do

My wife, kids, and I went up to my folks' place for dinner last night. Dad had this new Dog Bone Jack waiting for me. I really like this knife.

You guys might need a bit of a nudge to get over the edge on buying a knife with a whistle that has a dog scratching fleas as a blade etch.

May I humbly offer my solution. I wanted to make sure I was getting my 12 year old nephew a good knife, one of useful size and utility, and in this case one that actually had a working whistle. So, when I bought myself a RR Barlow, I put one of these on the order as well.

This really is a spiffy knife. It is a useful size and pattern and as mentioned above, the whistle works great. And since it was a test knife only ;), I had to order another for him. He was the hit of his Boy Scouts group with that knife.
And now I may wind up ordering his Dad one as well!

My 21 y/o daughter has been trying to take mine, ever since I got it.
I have the earlier model with the dog bone shield.

Hi Robert, I got this one on the exchange for under retail. The best thing about RR knives other than they are worth MUCH more than the price, is the ability to try out many great patterns without dropping a bundle. I have turned litterally 100s of people onto pocket knife love with RR knives. IMO they are the best deal knives on the market. That's a very nice looking swell end you have, I may have to get over my dislike for the Colt logo in the bolsters. ;-))

Best regards

Robin

Robin, I'd say get one and the Colt "C" in the bolster won't bother you a bit. I've got a canoe and a large trapper. Remarkable knives for the price and the box they come in is worth $5.00 by itself.

My favorite thing about RR; moding. You can sand file or even shudder dremal with no remorse what so ever.
This Barlow i got used for 5$ had the nick on the main obscured by the pen. I lowered the pen and made a cut out. I like it
