This same thought crossed my mind... creating artificial demand.
I thought they used 440A...so 440C it is
I thought they used 440A...
440C is a really good deal at that price.
That's too bad, I was hoping they'd upgraded.- sorry, my mistake, no doubt.
I kinda like the looks of this one, it appears that it should nestle quite comfy in pocket. I have never tried a RR but this one has me very curious to do so.J johnnywizzo Thanks for the heads up on availability. Ordered on Friday and received today, National Knife Day.
Now that it's in hand I can say it reminds me of a slimmer saddlehorn. Here are the typical specs everyone wants to know. It's 3 7/8" closed. The blade is centered and sharp. All transitions are smooth. It has a half stop and the backspring is flush when open and closed and just slightly proud at half stop. The pull is softer than their swayback, I'd say about a 5. The closing talk is a satisfactory 'snap.' I'm not a big fan of the matchstrike nail nick but it does help make the blade pinchable. Oh, the red G-10 underliner is nice. I think the lanyard tube is narrower than normal if that matters to you.

I love the knife but I hate the small diameter lanyard hole. But Andy at SMKW designed this knife and he says that a lanyard is only for decoration. I like to attach paracord with a large bead or a monkey's fist to give it some weight and let the end hang out of my pocket. It makes the knife readily accessible and keeps it vertical in the front pocket. If you're going to make a lanyard hole, why not make it big enough to accept standard paracord? Just the same, it is a very nice knife!J johnnywizzo Thanks for the heads up on availability. Ordered on Friday and received today, National Knife Day.
