You can only own 1 and forsake all others, round 2.

For fixed blades I vote for ones I make.
For folders that's tough. I have a classic 2000 Sebenza I've had for 20 years that doesn't look any different then when I got it.
I also have a Spyderco I got 35 years years ago, and a Case, and a Buck.............
Tough choice.
Probably the Sebenza.

Good choice, but based on the rules (forsake all others), I think you'll have to start making folders.

CRK no doubt. Close second would be Microtech. Ask me a year ago and I'd probably say Spyderco over Microtech, but I've really come around to enjoy Microtechs the more I use them. Despite their appearance as burly knives with thick stock they cut surprisingly well. MSI/Stitch and even Socom put most my Spydercos to shame. Recently got a Gen 3 LUDT and that thing is a laser, 3.2mm thick stock ground to almost zero with an almost full flat grind, it's a dream to cut with.

Love carrying a Case pocketknife, but with hunting in mind gotta go with Buck Knife for the fixed blades (and a very usable pocketknife). OH

The general Spiderco visual esthetic of a hump with thumb hole really bothers me to look at, regsrdless of how well made they ar or the companies ep for customer service. I got one from our son at Christmas two years ago and sort of have to use it at family events.

I do like the CRK line up in fixed blades and folders. I really appreciate that they have a twenty five year history of looking for "he best" steel as the formulations evolve (recognizing that "best" is not an absolute concept}. As I have written before, I wish CRK would produce a folding knife with a slightly different design philosophy but would settle for what they make at this time.

Was Randall Made included in the first poll? If not, lets do it again with RM included {along with William Henry for grins.} My EDC is a Leatherman Wave. Think about doing one for multitools as well.

If I kept the top 5 from the previous poll, I would’ve only been able to add 5 new makers/manufacturers not listed in the first poll (these polls only allow 10 possible options). CRK and Spyderco were far ahead of all others in the first poll so I choose those 2 to move forward. Benchmade was left out because it didn’t make the top 2. I took the top 2 from the previous poll and added maker/manufactures that were mentioned as being left out in the first poll. No, it’s not a perfect poll or setup but it’s what I decided. Just having some fun!!!
Nevermind all that nonsense!

You still owe me a buck!

🙃

[And this is fun!]

Knee jerk reaction was CRK, logic was telling me David Mary, but my heart still led me back to Spyderco...
I hear you. I went CRK as well but it was a toss up for me between CRK and Spyderco in the end. I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

Lol. I will say that I’m a little surprised at how many votes Buck has received. I’m 44 and know they’ve been around long before I was born with a tremendous following but I wasn’t expecting Buck to be 3rd place in total votes out of the 20 makers/manufacturers listed as choices in the 2 polls.

Also, I went over to the custom buck page and built a few and that’s actually pretty cool.

I almost had to skip Dave Mary, because in polite society, we need folding knives in our lives. But then I remembered that he does some mighty fine re-grinds of my favorite folding knives, Spyderco. Perhaps a bit of a technicality, but I ran with it. His mark is on the blade!

I abstained, but you tempted me to vote for myself, because by your logic, I can still own all the other ones too if I put a regrind on 'em. 🤣

I’ve always seen buck as the old reliable. Not the fanciest or newest knives out there, but they’re work horses.

Continuing this logic, if ya' got a stamp, all the world of knives is yours for the taking under this one manufacturer law. I like it. I'll have to get one too, though I doubt my re-grinds would be anywhere near as impressive as yours.

"Well...I stropped it, which is a form of removing metal, so.....it's re-ground! Now, Where's my stamp?!"

I'm here for the Comments Section.....
