Are you going to use your RAT Pack knife or keep it in a new condition?

The reason I am asking - it is a unique knife after all, but on the other hand it is a RAT knife...

Totally use it, it's the whole reason I bought it.

Common saying at the Case factory, "Their tools, not jewels".

:)

You have to use it. It's made to be used, and used hard. I don't think RAT went to the trouble of making a special run just to create a bunch of safe queens. I haven't had a chance to do anything with mine yet, but I plan on using it until I wear all of the coating off, and then using it some more.

I only use mine to open envelopes so it's a safe Queen. I have another Rc3 OD and a few other types of RC knives that get hard use.

I'll be beatin' the snot outta mine, along with the barkie i just bought (when it gets here)....keep 'em sharp---use 'em hard, just don't hit it with a hammer

I've never really had to use a knife hard. I just simply use them. I think some people go out of their way to see how hard they can be on something.

I haven't used mine yet but I will. I hope to post some pics (fingers crossed) of me cleaning a decent sized buck like some already have posted.

I agree. I just use mine. I will Baton with one in the woods or in my backyard fire pit. If nobody has ever seen it before just for fun. But someone always has an axe.

i cut the crap out of a chicken today. ok boneless chicken breast. but whatever. it made one hell of a dinner. can't keep it in the kitchen though my mil has a way of dulling a knife by cutting bread. it's amazing. idk how she does it.

Part of me wants to keep it pristine, but it's my only RC-3, and it's not like it's going to be a collectors item down the road. I'm using it. Besides, I'm afraid Jeff will come kick my ass if I don't use ANY of my rats.

Bought mine to use. So far I have not abused them but am confident that should I have to, then they will perform well. I have not been disappointed yet.

Definitely a user. I was about to buy my first RC 3 when the RP knife came up for purchase. What a great way to experience the 3 for the first time. I realized it was just too small for my hands so I let my wife have it and she is really excited. It's her first fixed blade. I got her a molle rig to go with it. The 3 will go nicely with the Delica G10 I'm getting her for Christmas.

Agreed. I got on my buddies ass the other day about the way he abuses his knives. If you have to abuse it, you've got the wrong tool.
