Had a USN Caterman stolen from me by this member (rpbm10). I'm writing this in a rush because he's back on here trying to steal more knives. 2 weeks ago we were to do a trade, each of us to ship that following Monday and provide tracking #. I held up my end of the bargain, never heard from him again, despite multiple emails. So 6 days later, no contact, no log in, I get this email:

Hey buddy. I totally understand your worry. Man, i can't believe it myself, and it must be a sign as I just had a bad accident on a RAZR that punctured my lung and broke several bones a few months ago, but here I am again. I was riding my dirt bike when it started to die right as I was coming off of a big jump and I broke 3 more ribs, my arm, and dislocated my shoulder. I havent been home 30 mins, but I am opening your package back up and adding a couple things to it for the inconvenience. The knife you sent is still in the package, but im fixing to open it. I will email you again when im about to leave for the post office, and again to give you the tracking #. Again, I apologize brother.

J.

That email was last Sunday, 1 week after he dissapeared. Guess what? Its now Thursday, no tracking number and refusal to communicate. I have to rush to work, I posted this in a hurry because I see him trying to deal again on here, multiple knives. My trade was to go down on the 9th, you will see hes posted quite a bit since then. I'll answer all questions, etc, when I'm back from work. I have every email, tracking number showing it was delivered, etc. Please fellow members beware this "member"

Please be careful dealing with this person.

Ok. I heard from the gentleman today after I told him I will inform the post master gen. Here is his reply:

What the hell are you talking about? Ill call the p.o. and have them stop that package and send you your catcherman back in 50 pieces. Dont threaten me boy.

If I got my Catcherman back in 50 pieces at least I got something! :p

I'm not quite sure what package he means. I've no tracking, and the guy will only talk to me if I "threaten" him. And if that "package" arrives I will immediately post that.

I think he better reply to this and explain himself in this thread unless he wants to get himself banned. Based on his visitor messages, he is flaking on other people as well. I'm not going to hesitate nipping this one in the bud quickly and cleanly. We do not want or need people like this on Bladeforums period.

Sob stories are getting pathetic. Especially this one--the way it's written isn't believable at all. If such an event actually happened, have him post a time stamped picture in his condition with the proper medical forms regarding his condition. So far the only thing holding up his claim are his words...... I'd ban him NOW unless he has hard evidence that he shipped out the knife and its on its way. By hard evidence I mean pictures of the knife in the package, tracking, something that GUARANTIES that the item is shipped, and all time stamped. When I was into airsofting several years ago, I sold a gun of around $200 in value. To make sure I wouldn't have any problems with the buyer, I took a time stamped video to show that the item was working as described and packaged it in the video. Of course purchasing delivery confirmation and insurance via USPS and took pictures of those. Given the poor light he's already in, he should have taken the extra effort in some way or form to prove that he's getting the knife to you--given that he actually shipped the knife. There's 2 possibilities with rpbm10. Either his story holds true and he doesn't care to get the knife to you or he's an outright scammer. Clearly he's capable to ship the knife as he's been regularly posting offers, is physically able to make a call, and able to use some form of an electronic device to send messages. Both possibilities are bad. In the best possible light, rpbm10 doesn't seem to care to invest in the extra effort to get the knife to you. Go right ahead and inform the post master general cf1969.

Hey Bladenoobie, if something has nothing to do with you keep your nose out of it-that's what's pathetic. If I wanted to scam someone out of a knife I think I would pick something a little nicer than a $125 Catcherman that was suppose to be new, but looks like he's been picking his nose with it. I didn't take the package, and like I already told you since evidently everything has to be spelled out for you in block letters. I have a 3 broken ribs along with other crap and the only way to get relief is take some medicine that makes me sleep 23 hours a day, so I'm not really doing a whole lot of moving around. If you want you can have this pos back and just decline my knives. I even cleaned all the nasty crap you got on it off. When you trade a "new" knife, make sure you don't send the one you've been carrying for months. I wasn't going to say anything because I'd scratch the crap out of it anyway, but since you are so quick to assume someone is trying to scam you out of some junk I figured what the ****. Let me know what you want to do.

Have the pictures of the knife in the thread. Be happy to post since you say it was in bad shape. You say I've carried this for months? Who the heck EDC's a Catcherman except that Gortons fisherman guy. What's the tracking number of that package? So here's the pics. You guys be the judge. Again. Tracking #. When did you mail it? Why is this information so elusive? If you sleep 23 hours a day, did you really go to the po in that one hour you are awake?

I just looked at the situation and what cf1969 posted and made a conclusion. Your approach in this situation did put you in bad light and made you seem suspicious. Considering the kind of threads that go through the GBU didn't help either. Now assuming what I said was true--that would be pathetic. If you are in fact injured--then I'm pathetic to a very high degree. I've seen plenty of individuals that didn't hold up on their part through multiple forums and friends that cheated out of their money. Honestly I'm tired of seeing people get scammed. I was; however, quick to judge in this situation and wrote with a very harsh tone. In the future I should be less opinionated and more neutral if I were to even comment at all. In this part, I am wrong and I admit it. That aside, you have yet to provide any hard evidence to support your claim. You simply restate your situation in an angered and harsh tone. First when cf1969 "threatened" you, second, after my post. Instead of replying in a mature manner and addressing the many concerns stated in this thread and my post you simply slide past them as the only thing you talk about in your post is your condition and the POS cf1969 sent you. Now I have to be more fair as opposed to my first post and give other possibilities too. To cf1969: I'm not trying to go against you, rather be more fair in my judgement. The pictures you took could have been taken prior from getting dirty or from getting the "crap" as rpbm10 so calls it. Assuming the knife was sent out as shown in the pictures, rpbm10 is wrong. If they weren't, then you aren't entirely right in this situation. The only way to settle this completely is to of course provide time stamped pictures, but if you're not able to provide them, then its just your word against rpbm10's. This is one small part of the situation though and rpbm10 has yet to show whether he's sending his or your knife to you.

Bad pics or not, I have no knife. My fault of course on the pics. That won't happen again. Any knife I sell or trade from now on I'm taking to freaking Glamour Shots for pictures. I have no tracking #. I do know that I do not have the Catcherman or the knife I was to receive. And that thing lived in a safe since I got it, but of course I can't prove that. But, if the knife was in such bad shape, why do I hear about it for the first time now? It was delivered 7 days ago. Why wait till now to complain? Why did you not contact me about it the moment you opened it? I know if i felt i had been duped on a knife description, especially as bad as you describe, i'd be contacting the seller ASAP. Why wait till a GBU thread is made about your failure to hold up your end of the bargain? You had not shipped my knife you claim by the time you got mine. Again, if it was so bad, why not send the knife back? Why did you ignore me until this thread? In all the emails I sent wondering what was going on you didn't respond back to tell me of a problem?

Why no photos of the used buger picking knife? As I stated earlier, I certainly would have contacted the seller immediately the day I received the knife if it wasn't described properly. So please tell me, when did you mail this package? Tracking #? I guess I just find it odd that I never heard anything about problems with the catcherman until he gets called into a GBU thread 7 days later.

And, why don't we see if that package shows up that he claims is already in the mail. If it does you folks will be second to know after me. If it does show up rpbm10, why would I decline it? However if it does show up i will certainly send it back to you at your request but you will have to ship mine back first You will have fulfilled your end albeit late. I guess time will tell, although its been about 10 days now. I'll wait it out! But man a tracking number sure would solve a lot of this, don't you think?

Although he's already admitted to receiving knife, he got this : 9505 9000 2513 2254 0000 19. rpbm10 that is called a tracking number. Why do you not provide all of us with the tracking number of my package? Shipped mine on the 10th, which was the day we both were to ship. Another thing that I find interesting is you said you would mail that knife on your lunch break from work (on the 10th). Is riding a razor scooter really your job? How did you work Monday when you were riding your razor thingy?

How is someone telling you they are going to inform the PMG over a legitimate cause be considered threatening? Then you say you will destroy my property and mail it back to me after you have the po halt delivery. Didn't know you could do that. But if you can, then there's a tracking number to identify the package, yes?

Still not a great pic, but I just found this one. All knives in that pic are unused, but again that's just me saying it. I took this pic to show some of the contents of my safe to insurance folks just in case something happens. Again, just my word, but there is that Catcherman in the pile. Still looks unused, and any knife in the safe is a non user, but that's just me saying it. I also have an external hard drive I am going to tear through to see if I posess anymore photos of that Catcherman.

very good of you. I am glade that you are a Mellivora Capensis Mod here on these forms.

rpbm10, you sure have a bad attitude considering its plainly obvious your in the wrong here and have yet to provide any evidence that your holding up your end of the deal.
No tracking number, no communication, no package from you yet your the one complaining about the caterman being used. Well at least you received a knife.
And like cf1969 says, who the hell edc's a caterman and a limited USN one at that.
Quit being a girl scout and suck it up. I'm sure you can find some way of getting the package sent if you havent already and if you have wheres the tracking #???

He wont reply, and his defensive attitude proves he's scamming the OP. He's probably a 15 year old punk kid, lives with his mom, and is failing school... I say the OP post his name, address, and email so we can look him up. Also, the OP should contact the police dept in his area, and post office. People think just because it's sent by mail they can't be caught. If you add his name to the title of this thread, it'll show up on top searches on Google if you type his name. Time to play hardball. Stealing is NOT ok, and he deserves whats coming.
