Also, check out the CRKT Crawford/Kasper Professional.

What's the difference between a Vapor 1 and a Vapor 2? I assume that at this price (<$30) there's no torsion bar--correct?

According to a discussion a while back in the What's New forum, the Vapor doesn't have the torsion assist.

The Vapor 2 (KS 1650, seen in the picture above) has a blade length of 3.5", and a closed length of 4.5". The Vapor 1 (KS 1640) is 2.9" and 3.9" respectively, and has a slightly different hole pattern in the handles (a sort of connected sine wave) -- this data based on what KnifeCenter says.

The bigger model weighs .3 lbs (~ 4.8 oz).

I caught that too. Between the holes and the framelock, I think we have some conspicuous similarities.

And with the money I've (not) saved up for a TnT, I can buy 18 of these knives. I'll throw them out when they get dull, one by one...

Coonskinner,

I'm afraid Ken was drilling holes in his knives long before Mayo was making TNTs.

Yes, they have.

In fact I began wondering can it be any good for that cheap?

I hope it is.

It just makes me thinking about a Junglee knife - my first internet order. That knife costed about that much - and it was a piece of junk.

Okay, okay, Junglee is Junglee and Kershaw Onions are Kershaws, but anyway...

Oh, about one other thing: Eric makes wonderfull kydex sheaths - I must confess :o I have lost his site address - can someone help me, please?

Regards,

And WHERE did those guys get the idea they could make a knife with all those HOLES IN THEM??????????? :(

Personally I don't like holes in knives (in the handle or in the blade) at all.

As I can see, they collect dirt and are difficult to clean.

Well, slippery when wet - as one chapel ;) once said - and holes in the handles are for solving it (I think).

But I think grooves and handle design are better sollutions for it.

Maybe holes are in fashion just now - I hope they will go out quite quickly.

Actually that's not to infer that Tom doesn't make a great knife cause he does. He told me the holes on the TNT actually spell "TNT" in morse code. Except for the first few where he misspelled the "N" as an "I".

WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKIN ABOUT , I'VE BEEN DOING HOLES IN THE BLADES AND HANDLES LONG BEFOR TOM EVEN DECIDED TO MAKE FOLDERS . AND THE REASONING IS SIMPLE .THERE EASY TO CLEAN, THEY TAKE EXCESSIVE WEIGHT AWAY FROM THE KNIFE,AND POCKET LINT AND GARBAGE IS EASILY BLOWN OUT OF THE KNIFE.LET ALONE THE FACT THAT IT BREAKS UP THE MONOTONY OF A PLAIN VANILLA HANDLE.TOM JUST POSTS EVERYTHING HE MAKES ON THIS FORUM AND I DON'T.SO DON'T MAKE JUDGEMENTS WITHOUT KNOWING THE FACTS!

TOM AND I ARE GOOD FRIENDS AND HE BUILDS A GREAT KNIFE!NUF SAID

Just playing, Ken. That whole all-caps-is-like-yelling-on-the-internet was too easy a pun to pass up. You know: yelling...Whisper...

I'll keep my day job (drilling holes in knife scales in a secret laboratory).

Sorry, wasn't trying to yell.It was just easier to type in caps than deal with one at the start of each sentance. :)
