well time for a new
Rubber Bucky
pass around...

this time it will be made from a two liner 440-C steel bladed square frame
so that any one that has not had a chance to try out that
old fashon 440C steel can field test it also!

this knife will make the rounds with the sheath that was made for the orgional rubber bucky .. but
i have not been able to find the thread and post with the name of the person who made it so ..
would the maker again come on and id your self as the creator of that sheath..
as i want to put your name out there ...
((ya see i tried that sheath and it is a fab user! ))

this pass around will be like before..
You are to use the shot out of it.. esp on wet or slimy jobs.. why?
well....
this is primarily a real world test of the rubber handles on it and
your feed back is needed to send to buck if you think it is
some thing they should make!

so you use it hard, sharpen it up and pass it on and
POST your comments here!
(( if you are not good at sharpenig, well it dont realy mater, send it on and the next person hopefully can sharpen it right up!))

i can tell you this ... the glue Buck used back then is ...
well the wood broke in little splinters comeing off the handle!!
it was a gray looking stuff and
oddy flexable once it was not on any thing...
i wont be takeing the wood off any more sq frames again i tell you!

so it will be ready soon ... who wants to be first field tester?
email me your street address ...

BTW: this knife will be the prize in my sales slogan contest this year!

Sign me up Dave!!!

Dave,

I also think you should set a value for insurance purposes and that all participants mail the knife USPS Priority Mail, Insured, with Delivery Confirmation.

OK- we got Flatlander as the starter on this field trial!!!
wow he was fast! musta been watching...
bucky should be finished in a few days ...
i am going to finger grove this one as i liked the way
it helped the grip so much more on the last one..

I'll definately try it,provided it can come to Canada, otherwise i'm out .lol.

p.s it'll be sent to the next person razor sharp.lol

why yes.. i do believe it can go to Canada.. dont see why not...
heck Flatlander is almost in your up front door! :D
hay Flatlander hope you can sharpen as
dont think i am as good as once was..:(

I've sent knives to Canada ... no problem other than Priority Postage is double. So whomever is ahead of you will get doanked for a additional 10 spot. But I'll cover it...all part of the fun. So put Razor behind me Dave.

I'll do my best. I still like to use Arkansas stones and a strop. I ran into a interesting technique involving a mouse pad, 800 grit sand paper, & wd40. I've got a really dull 112 I'll try it on first though

But, I can get it sharp enough shave hair off your arm with the stones...well usually ;)

the last rubber bucky went cross country
east to west and north to south over 4 times!!
this will make it an international test! :D

humm i have 10$ in the alpha hunter grips and 25$ in the knife it self..
not worth the expense of insurance..:thumbdn:
3 day is nice...
and thought i would recomend it ..
delivery confirmation will be senders choice..
Heck if worse comes to worse ...
i get more then 35 bucks worth of fun out of it any way!!! :D

Awesome,I always wanted to try that original rubber bucky,I can imagine what kind of grip a finger grooved 110 with rubber grips is gonna be like ,buck has got to build a run of these.thanks guys!I can't wait to hear everyones reviews on this knife 334 dave has thought up!

wow now we got us 3 field testers!
humm i better check things...
it will take at least a little while to finger grove it ...
now remember folks i am not a knife maker!
only tinker now and then so dont expect a perfict fit ...
i do my best but it is not show quality..
this is to function test the extra grip-ability of the
knife with the alpha rubber handles..
with hopes that buck will make one them selves before
some one else jumps on the idea!

Add me to the list as well. By the way, the next time you attempt to remove those handle scales, you may want to soak the entire knife in acetone for a day or so; it will loosen that epoxy right up!!

hummmm learn something every day!
if i do another sq frame will do that !
ok so 4 testers.. wow that means i
will be doing more on it today

It should be a fun pass around and I know field testing knives is definately one of my hobbies.lol..can't wait!

I think I know who made the sheath! Me. Put me on the list for the new one. I like finger grooves and I want to see how the sheath is holding up from all it's travels.

Jack!!! wow i am glad you spoke up!
i am postive that quite a number will want to know who made it!!
it held up great but i know you would want to see it and know fer sure!
i liked it so i did not send it to buck when
i sent the first rubber bucky to them.
i may not include it as part of the sales slogan contest !
yep the orgional rubber bucky sheath will come with it to you !
i finger grooved the last one that is going to Iraq and thought it was better
so this one will be finger grooved also..
i make them deeper like they first were..
have it in a clamp now ...
will check today to see if i did the epoxy right..
hope i did it right..

I'm anxious to see the new version. I'll take a look at the sheath and polish it up and check the stitching and make sure it's ready for it's trip around the country. Probably won't need much. My address is

well i would have had picts soon but...
the two part epoxy i used was over 5 years old
and did not hold at all..:(
that or i did some thing wrong.. which is more likely..
i will post picts of it when finished ...
kind of shy at showing the in progress view ..
kinda rough ya know..
shucks it was jest a old buck knife... ;)

Gee guys, it sounds like by the time this rubber buckie gets around, the blade will be gone from all this sharpening.

If you didn't get to fondle the first one, you should try this one. Rubber grips on a 110 is a must have.

TS,,,,will that acetone take the handles off of say, an AG S30V 110 ??? anybody?
