Well, I was hugely surprised by the turn-around time from Busse Custom Knife Shop on my Ruck Kensei. I don't think it even took three months, from the date that I first emailed Garth until the Busse Custom Shop delivery box was brought to my front door by USPS (Saturday, January 19th).

I requested the Ruck to be made in their gray metal finish with black canvas micarta scales. I think it turned out awesome!!! .........

I was also fortunate in being able to pick-up one of Brian Wagner's (a.k.a., "Oku") last kydex sheaths that fit the Busse Ruck Kensei short sword.

holy crap!! that is awesome!!

is it urban grey, or double cut?????

i believe that is the first custom shop ruck.

Nice pic!

That Ruck looks like it would be a nice little backup for the AK47 when zombie killing is imminent!

Now that is a nice one !!!

Never have seen a custom shop RUCK before....

I want one double cut with aluminum handles!!

Did you get charged when the blade shipped or upon order????

U may have given me an idea..:D

MORIMOTOM -- It's Busse's "urban gray."

I'm not sure what the 'double cut' is.... so my guess is, it is not.

double cut is a bead blast finish. urban grey is a coating.

looks awesome!!!

can i have it?

beat you to it guyon!!!!

Well yes...... Only through the Custom Shop of course....

Its also one of the most expensive handle options.....

Just and FYI for everyone:

During the last telephone conversation I had with Garth (of Busse Custom Knives) wherein he informed me that my Ruck Kensei was ready to go... save for one final detail: the Busse Custom Shop logo.

Garth wanted to know whether I wanted it on my Ruck's blade? He informed me that the original Ruck Kensei swords didn't have any sort of Busse logo on them. I asked him if the logo was engraved into the blade? Garth reported that it was laser etched onto the blade.

Anyway, I gave him a big "thumbs-up" to laser etch the Busse logo onto the blade. Like, why wouldn't one opt for it? The laser etching is free of charge.... and it leaves no question as to the blades origin.

What do you guys think? Should I have gone the other route, sans Busse logo? (just curious)

No NO nO ..

It's perfect the way it is ..... NO REGRETS right??

Do they come with aluminium handles??

We wants one precious... Urban Grey/Black Aluminium, that would match fine with my AK!!
When I placed my order with the Busse Custom Shop, I actually inquired about the black aluminium scales.... and the reply that I got back was that they had none in stock, and that it would likely be a very long time before any would be made in the future (if at all). That's what Garth said anyway. Perhaps he did so, out of expedient convenience.

Anyway, I went with the options that were available to me at the time. Just FYI.
