Ruger 1911!!!

Nothing against Ruger firearms... Some of their guns are awesome. But a 1911? No interest from me... Everybody and his brother has decided to enter the 1911 fray but there are only a few 1911 brands that I have any interest in... And Colt is among those at the top of my list.

Looks nice, but I gave up on the 1911 after figuring out that I hate external safeties.

it's about damn time...
i've been hearing talk about one for a few years now.
well, i don't have the money, great!!!
maybe i'll talk the wife into a "sweet" deal...humm..cause i don't have the money at this time!
it'll work out on both ends...ain't much a little "sweet loving" won't get ya......

I bought a very nice Kimber 1911, and it ran 100% from day one. Great gun.

After shooting and carrying it for a while, I started to dislike the safety. It's simply not necessary IMO.

I always remembered to take the safety off prior to firing, but I was always paranoid that I would forget when it really mattered.

Oddly enough, I shoot my S&W M&P that costs half a much better than my old Kimber.

Thanks for the heads up. I found a decent review over on rugerforum.net, My NEW SR1911.
Good pix and info.

Apparently there's a loaded chamber indicator that looks a bit odd. I think I could do without that. Hey, the gun's always loaded, right ?

Video is fair game.

Loaded chamber indicators are pure failure. I will never buy another gun that has one.
My Ruger .22 pistol had one- it was causing unreliability from the start I had to remove it. They are ugly, unnecessary, and a deal breaker.

I gotta call bullshit on that. My Glock 26 has a loaded chamber indicator and I've had 0 problems with it after thousands of rounds.

And it's remained worthless after thousands of rounds.

at best- with a gun that has one designed in, it is pointless. Adding one to classic designs is completely asinine.

.

That sentence is meaningless. My G26 has proven to be extremely accurate and completely reliable. That fact that you don't like a certain feature has no bearing on whether a gun is good or not.

Wow, you think? It isn't apparent after reading some of your posts. Keep trying though!
