I typically carry a ZT 0350 with me. It clips in nicely at about 4:00 on my waistband. I actually carried one on my last half marathon! Did not even chafe at all! The reason I usually carry one is because I do a lot of trail jogging and don't want to be out there with nothing!

I just started jogging (literally last night) and was thinking about this. I didn't carry a knife but while I was running I was considering whether I should. I think the only knife I really have in my collection I would care to carry would be my Kershaw Chill because its so light and thin.

i don t jog anymore, but I imagine that a light mid sized knife like the endura or the stretch would work well in jogging pants.

I don't jog. When I'm running it's usually an emergency, and my knife is flopping around with all the movement unless I keep my hand on it.

Have you ever use it out on the trail?

When running, cycling, or in the water, I almost always have a Spyderco Dragonfly in H1 on me--clipped to my waistband, in a gel pocket, or in my cycling jersey. My sweat is toxic to most steel, but has met its match in H1. Sometimes when trail running I'll instead bring an H1 Ladybug with an emergency whistle on it's lanyard. Can't recall ever needing the knife mid-run, but often I'm meeting my friends or family somewhere, and, well, I hate not having a knife on me.

I don't run a whole lot but I am an avid cyclist. I ride my mountain bike and road bike regularly. But I don't carry knives with me for daily rides, kind of counter-productive as I am trying to reduce my carry weight to an absolute minimum while I attempt to set PR's.

I will be doing a 6 day road bike tour of Southwestern Wisconsin in July though, and for that I will bring my lightest blade, a Delica 4.

Running on our city greenways, I keep a Buck Vantage Pro clipped at about 5:30 to my waistband. No issues. On the bike I normally carried a small knife (SAK or Leatherman multitool) in my tool pouch. I always figured I was more likely to get into a situation needing a knife on foot rather than on the bike. If I was off the bike it was almost always for a mechanical issue, hence the tool knife.

I started running in earnest this year, and I usually have my black leek in my pocket when I go. I recently made my 5 miles in spot on one hour! Not real fast, I know, but I've come a long way.

I have two blades that I use when working out. The one that see the most action is the SOG Aegis Mini. It is so lite and sleek at only 2 oz. I also use it because I want something that locks closed in case I drop it or something it won't snap open. The other knife I use is the Spyderco Pacific salt. This one gets used when water is involved. The PM2 is a nice choice though. I just went cheaper in case I drop one.

CRKT Eros flipper weighing just 1.5 ounces. No rust issues so far in a year of using one. Titanium frame and Acuto+ Stainless Steel 3" blade.

It's the bottom one in this old picture of mine:

I don't run unless something is chasing me. When I mountain bike I carry a mini-grip in my camelbak.

I clip a Kershaw chill in my PT shorts when I run. 1.8 oz, 3" blade, flipper, RJ Martin design, less than 1/4" thick, inexpensive, just in case I lose it, but it's secure. Fast, sharp, and good ergos. Not that I'll need it, but it's there. I live next to a county park with 20 miles of trails around 2 lakes. Hit the gym on the way home from work, feed dogs when I get home, change, and then run for a bit on the trails before the wife gets home. That's my grind. I'm 45 if it matters. Afterwards I make dinner and then beer thirty.

I have mostly carried my salt for running but lately I have been using a cold steel secret edge modified by bladerigs with their sheath.
