Very nicely done, Sir.

I picked up some more blade blanks myself and did these two a few weeks ago. Black locust wood on the the one and osage with a maple and ebony end cap on the other.
The osage one was gifted to a friend last week.

You guys are going to have me getting some new blanks!
The Spalted Maple looks great and I am a huge fan of black locust.

Great stuff!

Very nice! I picked up some Osage on a hike that I have drying now. Hopefully it will turn out like yours.

Russell paring knife makes a great small game knife

I added a slightly longer handle to this Russell 4215 hunter, and it feels so much better in my hand

this Russell sheep skinner has a crotch oak handle...I can see this in the mountains if the Mountain Man had broken the original handle, and had to improvise

nice work. how did u attach the end cap?
That is sunknife sunknife , not me. Hopefully they can explain.

I haven't done any end caps but you're right it is very cool looking.
Thanks fellas. The end cap on the osage handle is just epoxied on, no pins or other securing method used. Not sure how it will hold up to use or accidentally bring dropped, an experiment I guess. :) The friend I gifted the knife to spends a lot of time on outdoor pursuits and skins and processes a least 4-8 deer a season. I'm thinking it may get some heavy use and I'll be checking with him occasionally to see if the end cap holds up.

Russell Green River Works Camp or Kitchen Knife ....... for me I use it frequently in the kitchen for food prep. The blade was rainbow colored and had some rust on the edge. I decided to finish the patina on it this morning and then rubbed most of it off, then rubbed some Permalyn on the wood and wiped it off. The Russell etch is still visible under the patina if you look at it at the perfect angle. I'll still use it for food prep and see where the patina goes. I will say that the steel is very easy to keep sharp. 😊 I lucked out and won this in a give-away about nine years ago. It's been a dandy kitchen knife. Thanks Vince ! 😊
