S-30V; Maker's Opinions??

Anybody know where I can get one of those new hi-tech aluminum Carsons? Are they forged or extruded? Can I get boron carbide annodizing on that? Damn--can't wait!

BTW, IMO no matter what you like best about Swiss, you're gonna like it better with Mayo.

I used it for 2 kitchen knives. great steel!!! Takes and holds a nice edge, not too bad to resharpen. I was using kitchen knives i made from S30V to cut rolled up newspapers standing on top of a trash can :)

Taz,
I agree with your assessment of S30V, just can't figure out why you were standing on a trash can..:) Is that a PA thing?

LOL. Well, knowing my aim, I didnt think the kitchen table, or my dresser, or my computer desk would be a good place to do it. SO i flipped over a trashcan and set the paper on top of it and hacked away. Took a couple tries, but it worked :)

Now i gotta order some 3/16" for a 11" blade bowie im working on for Rifter on the forums. :) time for new belts!

Well i didnt make it but i do have a knife made with S30V(the one Taz was just talking about cutting newspaper with) and it seems to hold a scary sharp edge for a long time. I've been chopping veggies up like nuts since i got it and its just as sharp as when i started. I love this steel, which is why as Taz just stated im getting anothet knife with this steel, IMO its one of the best out there, and its not really that expensive either.
