So I was thinking we could use a thread that was dedicated to all of the different color handles offered by Survive! This way we have a reference for those that cant decide or want to see comparisons. Preferred photos will have neutral backgrounds and different handles side by side to allow for comparison. Obviously they dont have to be that way to be posted here. Also comparisons shots of handles indoors and outdoors are valuable. As cool as custom scales are, they should not be posted here as I intend this thread to be for OEM scales. PLEASE LABEL EACH PHOTO YOU POST SO WE KNOW WHAT COLOR AND MATERIAL IS SHOWN.

Thanks riz...now I might "need" green linen...just to see how its different from canvas...I will try and contribute here as well, assuming I can take decent quality photos
 
IMO Linen feels a lot better in the hand. I think it's the best compromise in colour and texture between G10 and canvas. I think linen will be my standard and I would go G10 if I simply must avoid the ugliness that is micarta when you try and get it in black.
 
I havent put the green linen on my new 5.1 yet, but I have a TOPS knife with it and I really like it. I think I like it better than canvas.
 
If they had old spec 4.1 handles in green linen I'd probably snatch them up to try. Might just have to buy a new spec 4.1...
 
Sure, here goes. I will add these are "dry". They are several years old and I have never oiled or treated them in any way. Just dry in a box in a climate controlled room.

Top is a 5.1 black linen micarta
Middle is black canvas micarta, for the 5.1
Bottom is a 3.5 in black canvas micarta.

For reference both are black DLC.

Help me out, though, which is which? Linen on the right and canvas on the left? What's in the middle?
 
redwood! You posted as I did. That is a great shot of the handles. In your bottom pic is the 5 handle linen?

Haha I forgot to post what the colors are:

Top down:
5.0 in dry green canvas
4.1 in "used" green canvas
4.1 in orange g-10
3.5 in dry green canvas
3.5 in slightly dry burgundy linen with orange g-10 liner
N-2 in green canvas
N-2 in black canvas
Spare handles all in black linen except natural canvas N-2
 
YES! I get regular requests for handle pictures. I always send them to BF, but a dedicated thread will help them find their way. Now to recontact Spark about getting super moderator powers to make this stick....
