S!K Handle Scale Photo Library

Nice, but don't think you can sneak that Alox SAK with the pocket clip through without talking about it :p :D

Maybe not here in the scale thread, but somewhere! :)

:) I posted about it back in December http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...der-do-you-guys-carry?p=15500154#post15500154

I ordered some pocket-clips along with other materials i was already going to get, and bought an Alox "lot" off the bay. The clip you previously showed on a Pioneer turned out to be too big for my tastes, I tried a couple of others (gave one clipped Pioneer away to a colleague) and decided I liked this one the best of those I'd tried  I haven't purchased a black Alox to try yet, just some silver. That's a harvester in the pic, I now have a clipped Farmer as well. The little driver on the Farmer's can-opener works well on phillips-head screws, but I carry the Harvester more often for that hawk-bill blade - REALLY handy

By the way, if someone wants this done to their Alox, I'm happy to do it "at cost", although I encourage personal effort in the matter - it's pretty easy to do and makes carrying an SAK much more convenient IMO, and such a knife is much more office-friendly than others I own, also much lighter than the leatherman charge TTi in my pack.

I'm going to have to grab something in g10 one of these times. The colors really pop.

Yeah they look good, but i think i will order some micarta grips for better traction.

But first i will put it to some good use to see how they feel👍

The g10 isn't as bad as folks make it out in my opinion. It could use to be a bit more grip but it is very usable. Some of it could be the user. Like when I wore leather gloves with the 5.1 to chop it was slick and did not feel secure at all. Bare handed or rubber palmed gloves feel fine.

I don't believe Guy would have shipped so many GSO 10's with it if he felt it would be a problem.

Here is Grogimus' black and red microtextured g10 2.7. I looked through what I had for a pic I hadn't already posted, but this one showed the color the best.

That sure looks like a Wisconsin lawn to me, complete with Creeping Charlie!
Oh yeah, nice knife in the picture too. :)

Haha! You sound like you're talking from experience!

My front yard is pretty nice, but in my backyard where I took this, the Charlie certainly does creep! But what do I care, the grass is covered with snow for 8 and a half months during the year anyways ;)

Nice pic Silver!

My 2.7 is black linen (it's all that was left when I ordered. At least I know what it will look like.

ALSO, I did manage to score a set of white melamine scales for my old spec 4.1.
That blade just so happens to be one of the original M390 blades!

How rare will that M390 GSO 4.1 be with White Melamine scales on it?

Of course I'll have to sell the old sheath and scales, and build a new rig. My current scales are orange G10 and the sheath is black carbon fiber with orange accessories. Some of you may remember this one.

That is a sweet rig right there. Beautiful work.

HaleStorm, mind if I ask how you attached the belt loop to the riser? Did you place a grommet in the webbing or just poke a hole through? The pics don't quite show. Thank you.

I have a tool I use to melt a hole in it so there are no frayed edges inside the hole. It's all fused together. That Chicago screw going through there is also steel and not aluminum so it's strong as it can be along with black oxide stainless steel screws. That webbing is scuba webbing, which is the strongest I could find. I actually have replaced that with a coated (waterproof) webbing now that is just as strong but a bit more flexible and waterproof. I try to build my sheaths as heavy duty and "bullet proof" as possible. I want it to outlast the owner.

Thanks for asking and thanks Grogimus for the compliment.

Silver, my friend, make me an offer. It's on the big auction site but those prices don't apply to you my friend.
