Comparing size of the Diplomat to Maxpedition Sliver II - The M&P15T just barely fits the Max.

The old adage that "you get what you pay for" kinda holds true the Diplomat. The padding and webbing are thin.

Interior with rifle. There are two sets of retaining straps supposedly for two rifles....but as you can see. I guess it can fit if you take off the EOTech and vertical forend handle

Rifle in Maxpedition and it just barely fits. There's a roll-out nylon piece that allows to convert the case into a shooting mat. The case will zip out flat whereas the Diplomat will not lay out flat.

The Maxi is a two compartment case vs. the Diplomat single compartment. Meaning you will need to get separate molle or pals type magazine pouches to attach to the Diplomat to tote around extra magazines.

Overall: the Diplomat is a decent case for range use, not for any heavy duty field use. Good adequate padding for protecting the rifle. Good size and good price. The Maxpedition cost twice as much ($60) but built solid.

Interesting reading about lower receiver manufacturers.

Guyon,

I heard that the p-mag wouldnt fit the MP15 without a slight modification.

Is this true or do they fit fine?

Some early models had problems from what I've read. I saw an AR15.com thread on this matter a while back. It mentioned a range of serial numbers where folks had issues. I've also read that S&W will fix the problem if PMAGs stick in your rifle.

In mine, PMAGs lock up and drop release just fine, empty or loaded.

Do a site search on AR15.com and other firearms sites and see what you can find. Rather than use the clunky search there, I just Google-search the site by typing (in Google) the search words and site name (after "site:" with no space). For instance, you could type:

dduangrat, same-day-deliver me a couple of burgers from Riverside! Heck, send me a Gus Burger while you're at it. :D

Thanks for the review, Damond. I think I will hold off and grab something a little sturdier, so I only have to do it the once. I appreciate you taking the time to do it.
