Spyderco will be running it at a good hardness range also, unlike that other butter blade hardness that another company ran it at before...
Off the top of my head, I know of only one other company that has used S110V...two models, limited runs for specific vendors...
The things I keep reading about s110v are making me feel good for having a preorder in.
Is it really that good?
The best steels I have tried are s30v, s35vn, and CTS-XHP![]()
have you ever used a native? the frn native was my first spyderco, and I still think it's an outstanding design. carries so small, yet good ergonomics with the choil. If the military hadn't pushed me to be a larger knife user, the native still might be my favorite. it's definitely my favorite smaller knife.Tempted by the steel, but I haven't really been interested in the Native. I already have a couple of "super steel" knives. I probably won't be able to tell the difference anyway.

I am not talking about Strider.
It was the other one...
Kershaw perhaps? Just a guess.Who???

The ht was really that soft?
Under 60 mostly....
S110V treated properly is really something to behold, yes it is really THAT good.
It's the best most aggressive bastard of a stainless steel that holds an edge almost forever that people will likely ever see.
Kudos for Spyderco even working with it.

I look forward to hearing what the actual HRC will be. Phil Wilson usually approaches 64 in S110V I believe. At least that is what I seem to recall. The Kershaw Shallot was ran at 58-59 per my memory. What a shame! Glad Spyderco is running it at a very nice Rc.
So what is Hrc treated properly? 61-62?
Taking an educated guess, what do you think spyderco will run them?
