The pictures make it look better than it really is.

I'm just glad I know I can at least get it working sharp again, even if it isn't pretty. Definitely a difference in sharpening from something like Aus 8 or 8cR, haha.
 
For future purchases I’d suggest avoiding the SxxV steels, the vanadium only goes up from here and sharpening gets worse (S35VN is about comparable), you can now get a lot of models in BD1N, which is a very good mid level chromium carbide steel and much easier to sharpen. For Seki models, stick to VG10 which is easy to handle and keeps costs in check as well (avoid K390 due to high vanadium and definitely ZDP).

Hello!

Honestly, I am coming to the conclusion that I prefer premium steels, but not super steels. I have three knives with higher end steels and you know what I realized? They all lose that razor edge faster than I'd prefer.

I think for my needs, and current sharpening skill level, I'm better off with softer steels. I have "Edge OCD", where I have to keep the knife razor sharp. I hate that about myself, haha.

Lol.. The Bug, spreads! Wife has a Pakka Ladybug and just ordered the Cruwear Manix.
My daughter (11) has a purple Ladybug, DF2, and for her 12th b-day in 2 week's, is getting a factory 2nd, Maxamet Para 3, with the purple scales off my Cruwear Para 3.

My son(15) has a ZDP Delica with Boomer52 scales, Ikuchi, and Max Para 3 2nd..
Among that, it has spread to my friends and coworker's and there friends and coworker's..

Many more to come! Lol..
