I'd pay that much and a bit more if the Tenacious was in 52100 besically because you can't get 52100 in any other spyderco.

thats probably what will happen with me. but i have one question about the PM2. have you ever dealt with a sticky lock in any of yours?
there must be a reason why spyderco lovers start with the tenacious and end up with a para 2! for me,i soon got tired of cutting my index finger trying to reach a non choil with the tenacious ! as most if not all my other spyderco's have a choil,i'm i the habit of grabbing my knifes with a choil, adding one to the tenacious would be grate, and a little better steel like S35VN would be a improvement,i still love my tenacious when i have gloves on.![]()
Yes, my third, the all-black version, had a stiff action and a "catch" in the lock release. It happens sometimes.
I sent it in to Spyderco for a warranty adjustment, and it came back buttery smooth.
It's definitely one of my favorites.

is it common for the dlc coated pm2s to have sticky lock? bc i ordered the all black version.

If they did change the blade steel used, I think 440C, 154CM, or VG-10 would be sufficient.![]()
I don't think "being sufficient" is the point here. 8Cr13Mov is sufficient. It's people expressing what they want.
Would love to see a Tenacious based flipper myself. Spyderco doesn't have any sub $100 flippers. Love the Southard but my max expenditures for folders is around $200, so unless i get really lucky on the used market i don't see a Southard in my future. A Tenacious styled and priced flipper would be awesome. Just dreaming out loud here, lol.

I'd be happy with one of those three blade steels, and would probably buy one if available. Those other steels would really shoot up the price, the Tenacious is a large blade.

I want to say I heard something recently about a new value line flipper in the works.
