Wondering what the forums thoughts are on S35VN now that S45VN has been out for awhile as well as Magnacut.

In my opinion, S35vn is good steel. It's reasonably tough, holds a respectable edge and responds well to stropping. Apparently, Magnacut has completely obviated the need for S35vn, but that does not mean that our knives from a few years ago need to be immediately replaced. Being made out of S35vn is not a sin that will stop me from buying a knife if I like it.

Here’s another question, if you could change out your S35VN for Magnacut, would you? Also, what is your guess for how long it would take for you to notice the difference? Would you notice it at all?

I for one am not that happy with edge retention on my s35 and its not that fun having to sharpen the belly and tip area where it's thick and keeps reflecting light all the time. It does hold shaving sharp edge well for a bit, but then the working edge gets killed fast. Maybe I got a lemon, maybe I'm too used to supersteels and my sebenza is treated more towards cutting things on a rock, I'll take the Magnacut.

I think we will have the option to send our 21s in for a reblade in Magnacut. I'll keep mine in s35, but I'll surely end up with a 31 in magnacut.

To your other question, I think I would notice the difference the first time I had to break down a whole bunch of cardboard. Does that matter to me? Not really. Pretty much any knife will need some attention if you kill enough cardboard.

I’m good with it.
I have a few folders in S35 and have no complaints. I’m especially fond of my TSF Gorgon in S35VN.

Works for me since I use my Sebenza as a working knife so yes it does need weekly touch-ups. Any of my other knives that hold an edge longer requires more work to bring back to shaving sharp which is my baseline. Overall S35VN with the current hardness does exactly as advertised. Good working steel that is easy to sharpen. I look at it as a stainless 1095 steel.

The reblade option would be Great! I would probably do my 21 pictured above, and would Definatly do my old s30v Zaan in a heartbeat if available.

For me I find the opposite to be true. S35VN has a long lasting working edge but very short fine edge. I found that only using medium/brown rods on the sharpmaker leaves a more aggressive edge for my sebenza.
